valentineWhat do you guys think of a straight up Okafor for Lavine trade?
Wolves can also give the sixers the 5th pick, and get 24th and 26th in return if Zach alone is not enough.
Just imagine the twin tower combo of KAT and Big Oak for the next decade.
Conversely, if sixers get the 5th pick, and get Murray or Dunn, one of those with Lavine would be a backcourt set for the next decade as well.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantAs much as we all love Lavine alongside Simmons, IDK if the Wolves are open to trading him, Coach Thibbs hasn’t had enough time to see if he can play any Defense…
Assuming Lavine were available via Trade…
I’d offer Nerlens Noel and the Late 1st round picks we have from Miami and OKC (24 and 26) for Lavine leaving the Wolves with the 5th pick to draft Buddy Hield
76ers leave with Simmons and Lavine to pair up with Okafor, Embiid and Saric, waiting for the Deep PG class of 2017
Wolves leave with their Noah type C in Noel, add Buddy as a SG and 2 late first round picks for hustle players to fill out the roster around Rubio/Wiggins/KAT, I really think Thibbs would love having a Towns/Noel frontcourt

220ParticipantHistorically speaking I agree that Thibs would have more interest in Noel than Okafor. At this point I doubt the Wolves make a move like that involving Zach Lavine, but I could see them moving the #5 pick because they don’t need another player who needs time to develop at the moment.

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantOkafor and Towns could not coexist. One of the reasons Towns is so effective is because as a C, he can play inside and out, and defend/switch on the PnR. If they were to trade for Okafor, Towns would be forced to play PF, and his quickness advantage over basically every C in the league would be mitigated, and he would be unable to protect the rim/play as effective defense as he is now. Okafor is a defensive black hole, and the team would get much worse defensively with him at the 5.

holefillers1ParticipantI would take Lavine and the fifth pick for Okafor but I agree with GTS, Okafor wouldn’t fit with Towns. I doubt Minnesota would make that trade regardless of fit.

burgessfourParticipantThe Wolves give us 5 & Lavine for Ok4, but I would give them Noel for 5 if Murray is still no the board.

nill650ParticipantOkafor to the t-wolves makes 0 sense for the timberwolves. Kat is the Center and will remain the Center. Okafors old school game will not fit in well there at all anyway.
I could see the Wolves being open to trading Shabazz and Ty Jones neither of which are good defenders for Noel and the 26th or Noel and Grant something more on those lines that would fit better in a thib rotation.

XavierAllTheWayParticipantTyus jones would be a good pg to grow with your young core. As much as everyone raved about Winslow and okafor, it was jones improved plays in the latter part of the year and his performance in the final game that won it for duke
