Celtics3178ParticipantI know a lot of people will say its a bad move but Brandon Ingram should be the first pick in the draft. Hes the perfect fit for the 76ers and will be a better NBA player then Ben Simmons. The Simmons comparissons too Lebron James and Magic are such a joke. Magic won the Tourney, Lebron would have won the Tourney with 11 guys from this site on his team and Simmons couldn’t even get his team in. Hes not a scorer he reminds me of Jeff Green so much talent but just doesn’t have the desire that the all time greats have. he can’t shoot just 33 percent from 3 in college. He only had 47 more assistants then turnovers in college which is a joke for a guy whose suppose to be a playmaker. He won’t be able to play with noel or okafor on the sixers roster at the 4 spot. Noel can run but has a non exsistent offensive game and okafor has a great post game but can’t run which is the only offense Simmons will be effective in. Ingram can shoot has the length to play the 4 spot in small ball and will be the best player to come out of this draft class.

festar35ParticipantIn terms of fit it does make the most sense, but the pure talent of Simmons is too much to pass up.

Butter13ParticipantWhy would any GM with a brain draft for "fit" when the team is coming off of a 10-72 season? That makes no sense.

shug94ParticipantI think the sixers take Simmons at 1 because he has the best chance of being a superstar.
And I think they try to combine a few other assets to grab a late lottery pick to grab a shooter.

dudo670ParticipantYou’ll get a lot of hate (and so will I for posting this response) if you dare speak badly about Ben Simmons, but you hit the nail on the head. Magic won the tourney and Lebron would’ve if he went to Duke and maybe even if he went to Ohio State. Simmons lacks the drive and desire to win, he’s known for padding stats in blowouts because he cares about stats but shies away from the big moment in close games. In 5 years Brandon Ingram will be the best player from this draft and the Sixers should take him. He’s got the talent and swagger to be a top 10 NBA player and he isn’t whining about where he gets drafted. Simmons’s talent is overrated. People will find that out soon. Can he pass and see the floor? Yes. Can he rebound? Yes. But can he shoot? No, nor will he ever be a good shooter? Is he an athlete? I’d say he’s average in terms of speed, quickness and strength. He’s got short arms and average lateral quickness. But people are in love with him because he averaged 18-12-4 per 40 this year on a bad team in a lousy conference. Simmons in the NBA will be a complementary player on a title team.

Memphis MadnessParticipantShould they trade down to 2 for the first pick, 32, Jordan Clarkson, and Larry Nance Jr.?
would the Lakers do that?

theballerwayParticipantNa d not because theyres any thing wrong with Simmons hes a baller. My thing with Simmons or a player like simmons is you have to put the ball in their hands almost completely to get the most out of his unique passing ability etc. If he was Lebronesque physical specimen its different but we are talking Lamar Odom without a jumpshot and although that is tantalizing I dont think he is worth tradinga whole bunch of players and building a team(champion ship ) around hes more like a Pippen 2nd option type to me. infact this is Lamar Odom without a jumper vs Tracy Mcgrady without the hops lol. Ingram has as much potential as a scorer as he has as a passer simple.
Nah seriously I thinbk hes good just not trade away the rest of yuour roster and build around him good
