So there was a subject earlier about predictions for this year’s NBA Finals, but what are some of your guys’ X-factors/match-ups to watch for in this series?

I think that the match-up between K-Love and Draymond Green is very interesting…one of the reasons why Cleveland trounced the rest of the East(besides the incredibly weak competition) was that K-Love was able to play the 5 a lot and spread the floor with his shooting. We know Love is capable of 20+ point games in blowouts, but what will he be able to produce in the 4th quarter(if Coach Lue even puts him in for the 4th)? Especially being guarded by Draymond Green? And if he has to, will he have the foot speed to defend a Draymond Green? I think Green could have a great series, specifically if Love is guarding him…

I expect Steph to Steph…I expect LeBron and Kyrie to be the bad men that they can be…But I think that the Green/K-Love match-up in itself and who wins that match-up will be incredibly important in this series….what kind of match-ups/x-factors will you guys be following?

What will make it even harder for K Love is the Curry and Green pick and roll that they were barely able to run last series because Green was being defended by Durant. Kevin love is not being used properly by the Cavs at all on offense and he offers nothing on defense. He is being relegated to be a spot up shooter like Bosh became in Miami.

I expect Iguodala to start to matchup with James from the beginning and Klay to defend Irving most of the time while curry coasts on JR. If Kyrie and love struggle like I expect them to, then I think LeBron tries to take over the game and assert his dominance like he did last finals which leads to overall poor play from the rest of the cavs players.

Im calling Warriors in either 5 or 6.

Golden State should just go with their lineup of death.  Putty Iggy on LeBron, then yeah, put Draymond on Kevin Love.  Use Draymond Green as a point forward extensively.  Force LeBron to guard Dray, PhD.

WILD CARD: Can Draymond control his emotions?  How many more techs until he sits out a game?  This could be YUGE!

If I am the Warriors I also try some 3 guard lineups with Livingston at point, Steph at the 2, and Klay at the 3.

I think they stick to a 9 man rotation.  The Lineup of Death.  Then Livingston, Big Mo, Bogut, and Ezeli off the bench.

Use Brandon Rush in spot minutes in Game 2 for a tweak.

Another possible wildcard: The Warriors can keep Draymond Green but put Iggy at the 3 for defense, THEN you start Anderson Varejo at center.  He will probably be really hyped and he has played with these Cavs guys.  AV can crash the boards, set picks, and pick up some fouls.  Stephy, Klay, and Green can give you enough scoring.  Or, you can start him in Game 3 back in Cleveland.

If you start AV and Iggy for Game 3 on the road then that allows you to bring Barnes, Bogut, Mo, Ezeli, and Livingston off the bench.  The tweaked starting five gives you a better five man bench mob of Livingston (with Barbosa at the other guard spot), Barnes, Mo, and Bogut.  You can also use Ezeli as a 6th man.

Basically, they need to go with what works early and go for the kill, then make some tweaks later on.  Try to close it out in either Game 5 or Game 6.  Don’t let LeBron get going.  Or, let him get his (on low percentage shots) and contain the other guys.

Then I think Steph will beat Kyrie.  Draymond beats Love in my opinion.  Let Klay break the Cavs’ backs.

For Cleveland: go with Channing Frye at center to start.  I would run LeBron/Love pick and rolls all day.  Have Frye spot up for 3.  Put Kyrie on the weak side as a backup plan spotting up for 3.  Let JR Smith post up, or run switches with Kyrie Irving.

Force Klay to chase JR Smith around.  Post up Klay.

Throw multiple looks at Steph: Kyrie Irving, Shump, Delly.

Throw multiple looks at Klay: JR Smith, Shump.  Even LeBron.

LeBron or Love has to guard Draymond Green.  TT off the bench.  Or even Richard Jefferson.

Yeah, that is what I do: LeBron/Love pick and rolls.  Kyrie off the ball.  JR Smith posting up and running off screens.  Channing Frye spotting up for 3 (then crashing the boards or falling back on defense) either at the top of the key or in a corner.

On defense tell Frye to try and protect the rim.  Or hit somebody in the face.  Either one.  He can’t be afraid to foul out.

They should also try to match GS’s Lineup of Death with LeBron at CENTER.  With two shooters (JR Smith and Richard Jefferson) and two defenders (Delly and Shump).

That also allows you to rest Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.

I like that Cleveland Lineup you suggested but there are a couple problems. Inconsistent shooting and lack of rim protection.

The Cavs don’t really have a great rim protector anyway.

Probably LeBron from the weak side would be the best bet.

They need to rely on first, start Kevin Love and Frye and let them space the floor and hit 3’s.  LeBron’s first job is to get Kevin Love going.  Throw different looks at the Warriors’ shooters.  Try to get into Draymond Green’s head, make him work on defense, and force him to try and do too much on offense.

Also, the Cav’s starting lineup would be an INVERTED lineup of death with Frye masquerading as a spot up shooting small forward and part-time rebounder, Love as the pick and rollee/popee offering rim non-protection, LeBron as a POINT CENTER with JR Smith and Kyrie Irving as your gunner supreme backcourt.

The Cav’s bench mob of Delly, Shump, Richard Jefferson, TT, and Mozgov is out there to run out the clock (Stall Ball) and hit people really hard.  Play tough defense on one side and try to break the record for most consecutive 24 second violations on the other side.

the Mob Rules and what Officials kids are tied up in the back of a van…

Of course the league also made sure both of these teams were back in the finals thanks to crap officiating.

protect the superstars etc etc. then there is the org crime factor.

I think the Cavs are playing with house money and all of these odds makers are setting themselves up for a huge payday.

Cavs in 7 ,yes Cavs winning at Oracle .BOOM
