high floorParticipantRight now I would say the chances for the Raptors to retain Derozan is pretty good (70%). But if they don’t.. I think Toronto should consider signing RFA Evan Fournier.
Fournier is only 23, and his growth timetable matches up well with Valanciunas. Also, he shot 40% from behind the arc on 5 attempts per game. His defense is underrated as well, as he did an admiral job on wings such as PG-13, Giannis & Harden throughout the season. That kind of shooting would be a welcomed addition to the team even if, quite frankly, Derozan stays in Toronto.
What do you all think? Would the fanbase be welcome Fournier if he was signed to something $17 million per year offer sheet.. or would that seem like a crazy overpay?

Jr. ROXASParticipantA lot of people know that Fournier is a really good shooter. However, one really underrated part of his game that impressed me is his slashing game. He looks really thin but when he goes up against defenders it’s all strength. And he has a really good knack of finishing around the basket with either hand.
Also, he has superb ball-handling for a 6’7 off-guard. He keeps his dribble low and does a very good job of protecting it. And he dribbles well for both hands. Really, a team that can sign him for say Danny Green money of like 11 million a year will not regret it. Want him to play off the ball, 3 and D type ala again Danny Green? No problem. Want him to be a second or third scorer for your team and put the ball in his hands? Fournier’s definitely capable.

juves4783Participantcould easily see fournier going to the raptors. uriji was with denver when fournier was drafted and they were really high on him but couldn’t find minutes for him.

markfitz14ParticipantWould def like to see Toronto snag him if Derozan leaves. Hopefully he dosen’t I would like to see that team get better and compete again next year at the top of the East.
Bring Biyombo back too!

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantFournier should be an excellent pick up for some team this offseason and I agree that he is underrated. However, all indications from both sides seem to point to DeRozan staying in Toronto on a max deal and they will not have the money or mins to give to fournier if that happens.

Magic JordanParticipantIsn’t he restricted? He isn’t going anywhere. Magic will retain him for just about any price I imagine.

high floorParticipantDo you think the magic will match any number (like 17-18 million per year) if it’s below the max?
Last year, Orlando reportedly offered him 4 years at 8 million per season. But to your point, I agree that Orlando is his most likely destination given his restricted status

TrillaParticipantI think another good player for them to target if they can’t resign Biyombo would be Terrence Jones. He struggled to get off the bench last year for Houston, but he still has upside as a potential stretch 4 that can provide rim protection. He wouldnt cost them a lot at this point, and a big man rotation of Jonas, Patterson, and Jones could mesh nicely in my opinion

ditotayParticipantI agree with that. I would love if the Bulls could snatch him and use it as a starter SG with Jimmy going to his more natural position. He is a great player but ultimately I think he stays in Orlando.
