ChicagoCaseyParticipantThis is in responce to my previous post, "Is LeBron Legacy Inflated?". I was only asking a questions about is his legacy is inflated due to the east being bad. Also, why every make excuses for the 2-4 finals record, but not ever question how/why he got to the finals. People use the fact that he don’t have any help to win in the finals, but no one ask how/who his teams beat to get to the six straight finals. That’s all valid questions.
I know this post may get negged because no one can question LeBron greatness on anything or ask questions about it even if you use facts in your argument. I was open to a discussion about his legacy and stated that he’s top 5 all time. Let me state the facts on the case that can be made about LeBron TEAM legacy is inflated. (THIS IS NOT MY OPINION, IT JUST A CASE SOMEONE CAN MAKE ABOUT LEBRON TEAM LEGACY IS INFLATED).
- His teams didn’t face elite teams to get to the finals the past 6 seasons – The only teans you can say that’s close to elite in the playoffs are the aging Celtics and the young Pacers team. It’s been a cakewalk since. That’s not saying LeBron is a bad player or that he’s overrated. That’s just point out facts.
- He was suppose to get to the finals every year given the competition – It was suppose to be a cake walk in the eastern conference. He steady had 2 other top 10-15 players in the conference, top 5 in the LeBron Heat era. I don’t get why praise someone when the competition is so easy and that they were suppose to do it.
Those are arguments that can be made in favor of those in the "LeBron legacy is inflated" side.

J-rueMykelParticipantCalling Chris Bosh and a post prime DWade top 5 players in the league is a pretty agregious error, try again.
Those "aging" Celtic teams, won a championship, and got back to the finals another time, and were pretty solid for a good 4 year period, and that young Indiana team wasn’t nearly as young as you think. Really the only thing you’re accomplishing is failing miserably at trying to take accolades away from the greatest basketball player you’ve ever watched play. You should really be questioning your life, and not Lebron’s legacy at this point in your life, son.0- Posted on: Sat, 05/28/2016 - 12:05pm #1067317
ChicagoCaseyParticipantI see how you work. I see half of the post an make your point/argument. Never said either Bosh, nor Wade top 5 players. I said Chris Bosh was a top 10-15 player in the eastern conference and was maybe a top 5 player in the EASTERN CONFERENCE. Goodness.
So, the Boston stars was not aging? So, once those stars left Boston they didn’t become trash? You are blind by your LeBron love. Boston won the chip in 2008.
And you are proving to the point that LBJ didn’t really go against great teams when stating Indiana wasn’t that great. They are the only team outside of the aging Celtics to give the Heat some run.
And I’m just stating facts and asking a valid question that you fail to answer or think about. I never stated my opinion if LeBron legacy is inflated. LOL. But, you guys don’t read the whole post and make assumptions. I never once stated my opinion on the matter.

J-rueMykelParticipant– "It was suppose to be a cake walk in the eastern conference. He steady had 2 other top 10-15 players in the conference, top 5 in the LeBron Heat era. "
That’s not maybe, that’s definitive. Niether of which were. Before the Heat, when Lebron still made the finals with no-one, other than Zydrunas Ilgauskas was somewhat significant, whom might have been top 100, maybe.
Boston stars were older, but still good enough to win a ship, and Paul Pierce was still good enough after the Boston series to be a key cog on a playoff series winning squad in Washington. "I called game".
I didn’t say Indiana wasn’t great, even though they weren’t, I said they weren’t young.
Not sure if your reading comprehension or your criticial thinking skills need more work, either way you should probably study more and opinionate less.
Why are you trying to put LBJ on a witch hunt, he’s far and away the best player you’ve ever watched, its really not close.
FYI I don’t love Lebron, I was thuroughly disgusted by his South Beach move and probably even more dissapoiinted in his role in sending Wiggins away. I think Lebron has manuevered his way to losing finals rather than winning them. But the man is still the best basketball player on the planet.
The Bulls, pre DRose injury were pretty competive against that Miami Heat team, even 2 years ago they gave them some troubles.
Can you please just stop. Please. Stop.

ChicagoCaseyParticipantYou must be slow.
So, you saying Chris Bosh wasn’t a top 10-15 player in the eastern conference? Wade wasn’t top 5 in the east? Because "conference" does not mean "League". You are plain silly if you don’t think that. Also, this post isn’t about pre-Heat LeBron, it’s about LeBron in the 6 straight finals.
The Pacers stars were young. Paul George Lance Stephenson and Roy Hibbert were young.
Also, talking crap about someone, immature. If someone lacks reading comprehension skills, it will be you. You the one that missed that I said "conference, not league. Also, you are not explaining anything. I find it immature and dumb to try to knock someones intellegence over sports opinions.
Boston stars was still past their prime and PP was a role player w/ Washington. He was the man in Boston.
So, you cannot criticize LeBron because he’s the best player that I ever seen. I told you I thought he was top 5 of all timee.
Bulls was a one man team, stop Rose stop the Bulls

ThenilonatorParticipantI didn’t neg you because of your opinion, I negged you because your post started "this is not a post dismissing lebrons achievements" and then went on for paragraph after paragraph doing just that. Just relax mate! Watch greatness and appreciate it, I’m sure he would prefer to be 4-2 in finals but it is what it is, I’m not a massive lebron fan but I will be rooting for him to win his 3rd ring because, if for no other reason, he is the most complete basket baller I’ve ever seen and I think he deserves his 3rd ring, particularly after his single handed performance in last years finals. We have Steph, Klay, Russ, KD, Lebron, Kyrie etc still Alice in the playoffs, enjoy it for what it is!

hoopscopParticipantHere is legacy -basketball-reference.com
Look at all the advanced stats, rs or po. Right now there is a legit case for Lebron being the second player in the pyramid. So probably his legacy will be the second best player of all time. That is a legacy. Period.

DukeDaSquadParticipantIm probably gonna get negged for this but im gonna say it anyways. making it out of the Eastern Conference finals should not be viewed as a great accomplishment at this current time in the NBA. A popular saying is that you need superstars to win in the playoffs. Out of the 10 players on the first and second all NBA team, only 1 is from the eastern conference and that is Lebron. Only 4 players out of 15 are from the East.

TheGuyParticipantI actually agree with you. I don’t think in this entire 6 year run there has been another eastern conference team besides the one LeBron is on, that was a legit title contender.

OhCanada-ParticipantChicagoCasey just leave it alone. Those negs and positives are only showing wether or not people agree with you. If you were to say something people aren’t saying or against the grain your likely going to get negged. Now every time you defend the statement that got you negged you’ll get negged again because the same people still disagree. It’s not the end of the world.
But if you do care about the points or how people percieve your statements just stop now because your only digging the hole deeper lol.

MachettiParticipantUnfortunately Lebron can’t decide what era he was born in. So for what he’s doing now in today’s NBA is living legend status. I have always respected ‘Brons game I think when all said and done he’s in the convo for goat honors. People should appreciate Jame’s talents you seldomly see revolutionary talent like his. Just sit back and witness his greatness. I’m rooting for him and Cleveland if he can come back after all the turmoil he had and win a chip for his sorry hometown franchise what an iconic moment!

Scrooge McBucketsParticipantWhat Elite teams did Magic Johnson face in the west in the 80’s to get to his 9 finals… What elite teams did Jordan face in the east in the 90’s to get to his 6 finals (and dont give me those sh*tty knicks teams who couldnt even deliver once jordan retired a couple years)
The fact is he did what he was suppose to do every year the last 6 seasons and other than the Mavs finals, he he lost to better teams even when he gets to the finals.
