With the reports already out there that the Sixers would like to land Kris Dunn, but obviously keep the #1 pick……..I think the Wolves would be smart to consider trading the #5 pick to the Sixers for Okafor – Based on team needs, I think Dunn is available at #5 and the rumors have been out there for months that the Sixers want to unload Okafor – Here would be the possible lineups:

    Sixers: G-Dunn, G-Simmons, F-Noel, F-Saric, C-Embiid

    Wolves – G- Rubio, G-Lavine, F-Wiggins, F-Okafor, C – Towns

Both of those lineups would have the potential to be very good – obviously Embiid and Saric are unknowns – I think Okafor and Towns complement each other nicely, with Towns stretching the floor with his shooting ability and Okafor primarily a low-post scorer – On the Defensive end they would match up on based on who they are playing, with Towns having the ability to guard either 4 or 5s.

As a Wolves fan I would rather have Okafor then – Dunn, Murray or Hield.

    Thoughts?

As talented as Simmons is, his future is not at the SG position

If the Sixers select Simmons, which they probably will, I’m pretty sure they’d opt for Murray instead of Dunn. Selecting Dunn with a ball dominant player like Simmons is reDUNNdant.

Agreed. But Murray might be gone at 5. He or Hield would be perfect with Simmons running the show, however.

Lakers trade Randle to the Wolves, Sixers trade Noel to the Lakers, and Sixers get the 5th pick. I do think the Sixers would rather trade Okafor (fit-wise), but, whatever. They could then draft Murray or Dunn, if Murray’s gone… or even Hield. Shooting! The Wolves need a PF and Randle is better than every PF on the board at 5th (since they missed Simmons). He’d give them some ferociousness and a boatload of rebounding. They shouldn’t feed him though. Lakers need a center and Noel next to Larry Nance Jr. shores up some defense.

Can’t see Simmons as a guard in the NBA, and Noel is definitely not a forward. Also, I’m not convinced that the 76ers want to "unload" Okafor without seeing what their roster plays like first.

Simmons is forcing his way to the team of his choice, the LA Lakers. Just like Eli Manning and Kobe.

Okafor is not chopped liver and certainly worth more than the third pick in this weak draft. If Im the Lakers I offer the 2nd pick in hopes that it will be enough to entice Philly to give him up. I have not seen such ball skills for a big in some time. Especially in a 20 yo. Does Philly even realize what they have?

the Sixers are going to trade a 6’11” 275 lb 19 y/o Beast w/ Rookie stats well ahead of Boogie Cousins & Andre Drummond……….

for a 23 y/o Rookie PG in Dunn who Can NOT shoot & has had TWO major shoulder injuries??????

Bryan Colangelo would be tarred & feathered…….. The Sixers will prob trade Noel for an Experience PG like Eric Bledsoe of Phoenix & draft a young pg from the 2017 draft to back him up………

It’s a move that would help both teams b/c Noel is a 21 y/o stud on Defense & in transition……. it gives Phila an experienced floor general & makes room for Booker in Phoenix back-court……..

But Okafor, Embiid & Simmons will be in Phila making other team’s Fans Cry for the next Decade……

Sixers had super interest in Shroeder, the young point guard in Atlanta at the trade deadline in February. Look for them to visit that trade again and this time the bait will be Noel or picks. There is no way in hell that they trade Okafor to Boston and be forced to look at him turn into a beast all season long. If he goes anywhere it will be out west where they wont be reminded of his talents on a nightly basis.

I would rather have Noel if I’m the Wolves I think.

I get the idea that Towns stretches the floor, but his ability to get buckets inside on the post is further along than people realize and the last thing I’d want is to turn my 7-foot future All-Star into a jump shooter and floor spacer.

Noel doesn’t shoot either, but his mobility out on the floor seems like it would make for a better complement because you put him in ball screen actions or hide him on the baseline for dump offs and his defense is something the Wolves need.

If Minny can get an impact post player via trade for the 5th pick, sign me up. Otherwise, just draft a young player who can keep this team’s winning window open as long as possible.

Wolves aren’t getting Okafor for the fifth pick in this draft.   Not getting Nerlens either.

The 76ers probably won’t don’t this trade at least not yet as there are to many variables such as:

How does embiid play and how is that foot going to hold up…

If they draft Simmons is he Pg like Gianiass A(from the Bucks) or is he Pf that occasionally brings the ball.

Who do they keep Noel,Embiid,Okafor and maybe even Saric(if he is going to play pf not Sf)

What is the players value  in a trade-could they get better than a 5th pick in this years draft?

What is the value in the 5th for the wolves could they couple that with a player(not named wiggins, town, lavine and maybe rubio) and get a better player that suits their team.

What would Okafor look like with a stretch 4/A pf that has range beside him?

Are any of their bigs a quality Starters/6th man for the 76ers/T-wolves?

These are just a few questions involving their bigs

However I do see another trade that may work for all sides involved:

Philly give Either Noel or Okafor depending on who the see as more replaceable(no one is taking embiid just yet as he hasn’t played an Nba game and that foot of his)

Philly receive Dennis Schroder(Atlanta starting Pg/6th man) there new starting PG

Hawks Give:Dennis Schroder as he wants to start which I don’t know if Hawks would let him yet due to having teague..

Hawks Get The 5th pick and can use it to fill a need bench Pg,Sg,or Maybe even C/Pf if Horford leaves or Sf/Sg if Bazemore leaves and Shabazz if included gives them more bench depth..

T-wolves give 5th pick and maybe someone like Shabazz if the have to throw in a player

T-wolves receive: either Okafor or Noel(whoever is the better fit for the t-wolves) ,EIther could possible work with Towns.Thibs/KG would light a fire under Okafors butt to play some defense and dominate either as 6th man or Starter or use Noel as a Joakim Noah light version-but he would need to work on that shooting range and F/T %..

Your first post is a trade idea, whew that’s risky. Anyways, I just don’t see Philly doing that despite the fact they want Dunn. A top 5 pick won’t be enough for Okafor in this draft at least.

Yall do know that draft picks are really hard to come by right? Took the sixers years of losing and tanking to get in a postion to where people are interested now. Plus with the way the contracts are going because of the Tv deals and stuff, rookie contracts are going to be even more valued. Thunder built their team through the draft. Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson all were selected in the draft. Good long lasting teams are built through the draft. Every now and then you can win big in free agency, but for every Lebron free agency move, there is a Carmello Anthony to.
