I’m assuming he plays 1. Hopefully JC doesn’t overthink it. If Embiid is healthy they probably trade Okafor and fill another hole. Should take wings/shooters @ 24 & 26. We may finally be moving in the right direction.

Okafor, Noel and Saric all have good to great trade value. Add Embiid if he ever gets healthy. I say you have to take Simmons because he is the best prospect. If it doesn’t work out from a roster make up standpoint, then you trade someone. That someone doesn’t have to be Simmons just because he is the prospect on the board.

Simmons will tell them straight up he doesnt want to go there.

He wants LA…76ers take Ingram or trade down.

So the 76ers add another guy that can’t shoot? Simmons seems to fit better

If I were Simmons, I’d straight up refuse to play for the 76ers and demand that my representatives make that crystal clear to the organization. The team is simply too dysfunctional. He’s good enough to get away with it.

came from openly tanking. Ofcourse NBA caliber players don’t respond well to a management that says they are there to lose. But that "phase" of the rebuild is over. They fired Hienke and hired Colangelo. Brett Brown is a very solid coach.

Next year is year one of the Sixers trying to win again. Sure some bad habits have been formed the last few years and will need some time to break and develop a winning culture again. But there is no reason to think this organization will be disfunctional going forward with the leadership and talent they have now.

Brett Brown- Head Coach from the Spurs coaching tree and Jerry Colangelo- the man who revitalized USA bball and make it cool to represent your country again. That’s the leadership.

Embiid, Okafor, Noel, Saric and Simmons. That’s the talent.

As if the Lakers are any better….they were actually trying to win going into this season and still finished with the 2nd worst record in the league. Ben did play with Russell in High School but you don’t get to choose where you play as a rookie. He will have to wait for free agency just like every other player in the league.

I mean really what leverage does he have…is he going to pass up 30+ million dollars and sit out until he is 25? He could be a malcontent and not try kind of like he did at the end of his LSU run but who would want such a primadonna on their team if that is the case. The Sixers are in great shape going forward with the assets on their roster. With the big guys they have Simmons could have the ball in his hands the majority of the time which would be a tougher task on the Lakers with Russell and Clarkson in the backcourt.

If I were Simmons I would say I want to play for the Warriors but that just isn’t how the league works at all.

which Simmons seems to value since he went to LSU primarily b/c his uncle is an asst coach………

In addition, Simmons has Zero Leverage to force his way out of the Sixers & it would seriously damage his brand……..

Phila is a Huge market……. & once he get’s on the practice court w/ Embiid, Okafor & Noel…… he’s going to realize he’ll be orchestrating an Alley Oop show that will be on ESPN every night……….

Phila still has Tons of 1st – not 2nd – round picks & loads of cap space…….

Free Agent Shooting Guards are going to BEG to play for Phila b/c w/ those Trees in the paint the 2 guards will be shooting Wide Open uncontested 3’s on kick outs from Simmons all day long……..

And that translates into $Millions of dollars for those guards………

He can say he won’t play for them ,but they will still pick him and tell him to shut the fuck up and enjoy at least 4 years with them or find another job outside the NBA
No NBA franchise will bend down for a 19 years old prospect.everyone knows that . Jahlil was rumored to try to do same thing last year (and he even had more reason with Embiid & Noel there) and they still picked him

Hmmm… If the Sixers draft Simmons, does Saric even come over to the Sixers this year? Simmons would take his spot. I’m pretty sure neither is a SF. Saric can, instead, wait another year and sign for more money. He’s reportedly coming over, but does drafting Simmons scare off Saric?

The Sixers have 4 top quality players that play PF or C (Okafor, Embiid, Noel, Saric). Since teams know they have to trade one, it already takes whoever they trade down leverage because everyone in the league knows someone has to go. Throw Simmons into that equation, and there’s one more guy that has to go, lowering their PF/C trade value even more.

I think they take Ingram unless they… gasp… trade the pick. I think Simmons holds more market value and might be a good move if it’s for the right young star. Otherwise, roster-wise, Ingram is the obvious pick.

then we draft him anyway and call his bluff…

He can rot away in Europe for all I care if really decides to be a Bitch and pull a Kobe…

As much as I would try to trade him to LA for Ingram, or just take Ingram startight up and take my chances that Brandon ends up the better player…I’d have to send a message to this guy…

But after all that, I dont really believe for one second he wouldn’t want to play with that front court…

Okafor and Embiid are True Monsters in the Paint, Noel is a nightmare on Defense, and Saric could be the next great 6th man backing up SF-C if needed in the modern NBA…

Grant and Covington have become expendable yes, but I’m not in love with either, I do like Grant’s defense and athletism and Robert’s shooting could be needed but I don’t want to pay him more than 5 Million a year

We are going to need Shooters BIG TIME, but luckily for us we have a TON of CAP SPACE and Draft Picks over the next 3 years…

I fully expect them to Draft Simmons or even Ingram #1 overall, pair him up with Joel, Jahlil, Nerlens and Dario downlow…

I can see us package both late 1st round picks for some help on the Perimeter (Teague, Bledsoe and  Knight are all options, especially with Phoenix landing the 4th pick and a cheaper option at PG in Dunn or Murray)

I can also see us sign a SG like Evan Fournier or Jordan Clarkson in the offseason(Lakers may not match, we’ll give them a protected pick in a Sign and Trade)

We also have a slim chance at Trading for a Stud at the Deadline (Okafor+ multiple 1st round picks could land us a Harden hypothetically) Although Im in the "Let them Grow together camp" ala Golden State, I’m definitley trusting the process…

There is no way the 76ers don’t make a deal if Ben Simmons refuses to play for them. It’s far too risky to take him and have him go to Europe.

I wouldn’t be shocked to see the 76ers move Okafor especially if Simmons is OK with being a 76er. All the team’s Colangelo put together get moving up and down the court and I doubt Okafor will ever really be able to do that.

I’d say they should try to get a couple shooters at the end of the 1st round, but I think the good shooters are all at the top this year. If they want Clarkson, L.A. would probably want Noel (but the Sixers probably wouldn’t do that straight up). Even still, Clarkson isn’t the level shooter they need.

As a Lakers fan, I hope they do. That way we get ingram, the player I wanted all along. All I know is the Lakers better not even think about trading this pick.
