After looking at past drafts it’s certainly not a given that any of the bottom three wins the lottery. Who do you think will win? Who do you want to win? And who will they take?

I think the Twolves will land the 1st pick. They did land it last year for the first time in franchise history. They have had a top 1-3 chance of landing the 1st pick at least a dozen times going back to the early 90’s-late 80’s, the law of averages could even out, if they land the top pick that would be 1 every 15 years or so of being bad and getting the pick.

Clearly Simmons would be the pick, he would be down low next to KAT and/or back up for Rubio.

If not the wolves I have a feeling Bosten will get it, just a hunch.

The Bulls will win. The last time they missed the playoffs they won with a 1.7% chance. 8 years later, why not go for the longshot?

I have a feeling Boston wins the first pick. I’d like to see the wolves win and be that much more dangerous moving forward. Wouldn’t hate if a team like the Suns or nuggets got the top pick.

Man the thought of Minny adding Simmons or Ingram to their young core of Wiggins, KAT, and Lavine is scary.  Has there ever been a team to have the Rookie of the Year for 3 straight years?

in fact Wiggins and KAT I are the first two teammates to win it in back to back years.

I’m going on record to say the NBA will give it to the Lakers because Kobe has departed…its a major city and if they don’t get top 2 they may be in trouble for a minute…I hope my sixers get it though…

Oh yeah and I see all you out of nowhere Wolves supporters, they have beeun terrible for more than 10 years and have amassed so many Top Picks and still they have people wanting them to win another #1 pick SMH???

I will go out and say although I love what they have done recently they don’t deserve all the Love and more Luck than they already have…

I’m going to say Phoenix, Philadelphia and New Orleans will win the Top 3 Picks

Simmons to The Suns, Ingram to the 76ers and Dunn or Bender to the Pelicans

Lakers and Celtics fan can suck it

Love, The Scare Crow from Philadelphia

As a Celtics fan, I obviously want the Celtics to win it (please at least be in the top 2). My lottery preference would be:

    1. Celtics

    2. New Orleans- I would love AD to be paired with a future superstar. Also, I like watching AD play, so I would like them to be good enough to make long playoff runs. Plus, they are a Western team, so they are less of a threat to my Celtics.

    3. Lakers- This is mostly to keep their pick from going to Philly.

Now we have exactly that time of the year, where we can finally ask this question openly with the whole input from the whole college and almost a full nba season gone…! Yeeeeeeee haaaaaa

Funny how everyone is not only rooting or thinking the odds will take care of itself and tams will pick near the ranking where we have them according to the standings, but also having a story why this team will win it – kind of explanation why the lottery is rigged if you know what i mean lol…

In my case I go with the Pelicans. I don’t actually want it to be that way but Davis clearly needs another young star to grow with. A pick around 4/5 seems like a more reasonable outcome and Bender or Buddy to the Pels sounds like something very good looking forward but Simmons or if my choice Ingram would be not only way more fascinating but could finally lit some more fire to this team. To me Simmons wouldn’t be the better fit since AD is too similar on offense and I really don’t want to see Davis guarding Centers. Since Ingram could be there at 2 (depending on who picks 1st…), I also wouldn’t be surprise if we end up Boston picking 1st, NO 2nd and the Lakers 3rd. At least in my movie theater vision of how things are or could go.

Nuggets will win it, with their pick(9th, like the bulls and cavs in 08 and 14, 1,7% chances), or with the knicks pick….

I want boston to get it(if not my suns) everybody takes Ingram.

The Suns have been around since 1968 and have never won anything no championships or draft lottery. It would be nice to get this one and win the lottery!

As a Suns fan, they have to be my first choice.

My neutral choice for a team to move up would be Denver as they haven’t had a really high pick since Melo and getting into the top 3 might give the team a kick start after drifting for a few years.

If the Kings came up high then it would be interesting to see what they would do with DMC.

Using reverse Logic, every time Boston has been in the lottery, I thought they were gonna win it. they never did.

Still hurting over losing out on Duncan despite having the worst record.

    Boston has NO CHANCE ..

FYI: The 76ers have the rights to swap picks with Sacramento, so if Sacramento gets the #1 pick and the 76ers get the #3 pick or something, the 76ers would get the #1 pick and Sacramento would get the #3 pick.

I am a Sixers fan.  So I know this. Going one step deeper if the Kings are able to jump to the top it would only take one more team to jump LA for their pick to become the Sixers…Sixers end up with 1and 4 the unconventional way.

The Kings option is the interesting one for me, they draft Simmons or Ingram. Rondo would probably resign, Rudy Gay is a good 2nd option, WCS fills a frontcourt spot. Suddenly DMC isn’t untouchable, maybe flip him for a very high pick plus pieces and you have overnight rebuild.

If Kings did get another elite guy in via their own pick then hopefully DMC might suddenly grow up too and know the team could do something.

Almost 0% chance Sacramento gets an opportunity to draft Simmons since the 76ers have the right to swap picks with Sacramento. If Sacramento gets the #1, you can be certain the 76ers will exercise the option to swap.

The 76ers have right to swap pick with Kings in 2017 not 2016, but Kings also owe pick to Chicago which needs to be conveyed by 2017 and there are various protections on these picks too, so it all gets a bit confusing.

Real GM Website explains it better than I can.
