Lebron’s HairlineParticipantI’d go booker too. He really came into his own last season and showed that he was more advanced offensively than given credit for. He’s also bigger and being one of the youngest players in the nba he has a pretty high ceiling if he can improve on D. Hield will come in and score 15-18 points for his team right out of the gate but his age lowers his ceiling as he’s about as good as he’s gonna get.

ChewyParticipantI would have drafted Hield over Booker. I didn’t like how he played at UK. He missed a lot of open shots for someone labeled a shooter. Then this year Booker blew up and played amazing (as the youngest rookie in the league this year).
Now there is no way I take Hield over Booker.

doubledribblerParticipantDespite the year that team had, I would say that some guys were not used correctly. Cal started/gave the most mins to the wrong backcourt and he severely underutilized Towns. You could see flashes here and there with Booker, but I almost wonder if he was just misused as well.
With that out of the way, it has to be Booker hands down. Age and what we have seen him do already looks promising. I think whoever drafts Hield is going to regret it. He should have a long NBA career, but he’s not going to be a star. That’s fine for a team like the Spurs or Thunder, but it’s not going to do much to move the needle for some of these really bad teams.

TRC1991ParticipantHard to compare because we’ve seen what a full year in the NBA has done for Devin Booker…
That’s like me asking who you’d rather take, Myles Turner or Domantas Sabonis?

mamadouParticipantWe’ll answer Turner, the absolute building block, all star caliber, legit PF/C, 2 way player.
When he’ll bring his turnaround jumper, KG/sheed picture perfect(he had it in college) at the nba level, he’ll get even more recognition.

BiggysmallsParticipantYou think Hield can come in and score 15-18 points right off the bat? How many rookies in the last five years have put up those kind of numbers? Not many, and Hield isn’t on that level imo.
Think Hield’s value comes in his role playing potential. Right now he’s a one-trick pony. He’s a sniper and he’s got a fantastic work ethic. He’s still not a good defender and his size isn’t a strength. He’s not "undersized"…but he’s also not oversized. Don’t see how he’s going to be able to guard guys like Paul George, Jimmy Butler or Kawhi at his size/length

publius2481ParticipantFirst, he is much younger than Hield, but already has a year of NBA experience. Also, right now I think Booker is a better defender than Hield and is likely to improve more than Hield on that end of the floor. Because Booker is better on defense, I would prefer him right now. Long term, I think Hield’s top out potential id JJ Redick. Good shooter who works his way into being an okay defender. Booker I could see turning into another Ray Allen. So long term I think Booker is the better bet.

220ParticipantDevin Booker for me hands down. I like Booker’s game far more overall and he’s significantly younger.

TravelinTravParticipantIts a tough call but due strictly to attitude I would take Buddy. He knew he was the focus for opponents on the defensive game plan and he would come out swinging and take it to the other team. Booker isn’t a slouch at all but Buddy carried a team on his shoulders with no fear in his game.
I see Buddy averaging more than 15/game depending on the team he goes to.

mamadouParticipantTough one.
Booker had a 14 pts game as an 18YO kid in the nba, 6 30+pts games as a 19YO.
While Hield was a college scrub at the same age.
Hield never improved his all around game in his 4 years in college, he actually regressed in a lot of areas.
Booker had a lot of 5-7 assists games already, he was the best 3 pts shooter in the league when he was a role player with limited minutes in the 1st 2 months, it changed when he was the main ball handler, carrying the load, huge minutes without bledsoe, then knight, and finally Warren.
Everybody knows he’s a top 10 all time 3 pts shooter in this league tho, a 20-4-4, 23-5-5 player for many years.
He’s a scorer, a shooter and a facilitator.
For a pure shooter and as the youngest player in the league, he had a pretty solid FT rate(with PT), 4,5 FTA in 2016.
A guy like klay thompson, Elite SG, 26YO, is a career 2,5 FTA player.
