TheGuyParticipantI’m pretty high on Rabb as a prospect, I thought he was about top 5 in this current draft class and as a player I think his potential ranged from the caliber of a Serge Ibaka to a Chris Bosh. Somewhere between a very good role player to a very good number 2 or 3 guy on a championship contender. I assumed he was lottory pick but based on what I read he was being projected as someone outside of the lottory, which in this weak draft class is pretty surprising. Hopefully Rabb really has a big 2nd season at Cal as their top player and propels his draft stock.
Where would rank Rabb amongst this draft class, and where do you think he would’ve been drafted/what would be a team that could’ve drafted him? I know I was pretty high on him, but I think a lot of sites had dropped him to a mid 1st rd.

negguaryParticipantreally committed to improving his game and not his stock which is exciting to see in regards to a young player because his stock is pretty high right now in a perceived weak draft where next year there seems to be even more talent and front court talent.

UncledrewParticipantRabb is a top 10 prospect in the 2016 draft. Pleasant surprise that he’s staying for his sophomore year because most sure fire lottery picks usually bolt to the league but after reading his statement he released to Cal he seems like a really humble guy who is committed to becoming a better all around player and getting the most out of college. He seems like a really high IQ player with good fundamentals who plays within his capabilities. The Chris Bosh comparison seems a little far fetched Bosh was much more advanced offensively at the same stage but he seems like a player capable of starting on a handful of NBA teams if he reaches his potential. Have to respect him challenging the new guys for a spot in the 2017 lottery as Im sure he’s aware that class is much more talented.

NBAjunkie81ParticipantAdmittedly it’s late in the Lottery…….. From what I’ve seen it looks like the 2017 Draft will be heavy on Small Forward & Point Guard in the Top 10……..
Maybe Rabb feels like he could be the only PF in that Top 10…… but it’s a risk b/c the 2016 Draft looks pretty thin……
Maybe it’s like negguary said that Rabb feels he can Develop his game & become a much better player before he goes pro….. Either way I wish him the best of luck…….

BiggysmallsParticipantDon’t know much about who Cal has recruited but with Rabb coming back, they’ve got at least three really good players back for next year which means that team could be decent again. Probably a clear tier below Arizona and Oregon, but better than most teams in the Pac 12.
It’ll be interesting to see if Rabb adds to his game. People say he’s good good touch. I wonder if he tries to showcase that more and become more of a focal point in the offense. He’s got big-time "role playing potential" — that seems oxymoronic but I don’t care.
I liked him a lot as a prospect in this draft. It’ll be interesting to see if he can boost it even further next year.

ExumInfernoParticipantPick 9 to 14 in this draft?
He was competing with Bender, Poeltl, Sabonis, Ellenson, Stone, etc..
If J Brown had stayed another season, NCAA title. They still have Bird if he can stay healthy.

HitsterParticipantI’d have had him in 8 to 14 range like a lot of the guys above so he is turning dfown decent money to return. His draft stock could rise or it could fall, this will mainly depend on how well he does next year. Even if his draft stock position fell but his overall game advanced then staying would be seen as being a solid decision.
