If the Warriors did not have Steph Curry, what seed do you think they would be in the West with the talent they have?

I heard Mike and Mike this morning debating something similar to this before I went to work. I think they’d still be at worst 4th in the West. It seems impossible that San Antonio would not surpass them for the top seed. I can’t really see them being able to hold off OKC and the Clippers without Steph either but don’t couldn’t really see teams like Portland or Dallas being ahead of them. They have a very deep roster and would still be a good team without him, just not great.

If they didn’t have Steph Curry just straight up? Or if you replace Curry with say a PG who ins’t the best in the league but is closer to league average?

Like let’s say they had Jrue Holiday (or insert PG who ranks in the 12-18 range)…how good would they be?

I think 4 seed in the West is about right. Maybe 3 ahead of the Clippers with a guy like Holiday for example.

Thompson can score. I feel like Barnes could do more if he had to. Green is really good. They’ve got an elite bench with Iggy, Ezeli, Livingston and others. And yeah somehow over the course of a year, the West seems to have fallen off.

In a League that has Always pushed Super-Stars…….. Golden State is that rare NBA team where the Whole is Greater than the sum of their parts……..

Clearly, Steph Curry is So special b/c he is a Bonafide Super-star……..  but he also Enhances their Team first concept w/ his unselfish play & willingness to move w/o the ball "just like everyone else"………..

But Even w/o Steph they are still a very good team…… Draymond & Klay are 2 of the best defensive players in the NBA at their positions & Klay could pick up some of the scoring slack…… GSW has a deep bench as well…….

Clearly losing Steph Curry would knock them down a peg……. But that Whole team Buys in….. so I would guess Golden State could win 50 games & get a 1st round w/ Home Court Advantage…….. So I agree w/ the others a #4 seed……. IMHO…….
