dcaseParticipantAs a long time Syracuse fan…..it was a sad day hearing Pearl Washington passed away. Watching Boeheim shed tears and get choked up at the press conference really goes to show what he meant to the Cuse family, the Big East, and college basketball in general. He was the player that really put Syracuse on the map.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantAnother legend gone way too soon. I was too young to really remember him playing but he was one of those guys that I always remember the older guys at the courts talking about how nasty he was when I was growing up. His game was just straight NYC at its finest, combining showmanship and flair with toughness and tenacity. Who knows how many young pgs he inspired in that era?
He was one of the last true streetball legends who made it, before the age of aau and national exposure. He was one of those guys that earned his reputation in the playgrounds and it spread through word of mouth. There’s something that seems so pure about that today. Yes, his NBA career was short-lived and probably a disappointment, but his impact on the game was just so much bigger than that.

HitsterParticipantVery sad news to hear when someone passes away at such a young age, he was a great college player and helped to make his team matter.
