First Matt Millen, and now Joe Dumars. At least the Millen is out, and the Lions had a decent draft for once. It’s funny, the year he drafts a good WR he’s out haha. How long before Dumars is gone?

Comparing Dumars to Millen is completely ridiculous. I mean, sure, Dumars has made some Millen-like decisions (i.e. drafting Darko and Austin Daye, signing Kwame Brown, trading for A.I.), but winning a title, getting them to the playoffs 9 out of 10 years in charge, and making some great picks and trades pretty much nullify that conversation. All Millen has done for the Lions is :

-Draft a WR in the top 10 three straight years
-Fail to make the playoffs each year in charge
-Fail to record a W-L record over .500
-Assemble a team that finish 0-16
-Set organized football back another 50 years in the state of MI

what Isaiah Thomas did to the Knicks was the Basketball equivalent to what Millen did to the Lions

JoeWolf1, I think that comparison is right on the money! The big question is who was worse, Millen or Thomas?

But at least the Knicks didn’t go through an entire season without a victory. I thought Thomas took a storied franchise like the NY Knicks and ran it into the ground 4 years straight. It’s hard to think of anything positive out of those 4 years but he did make some good draft choices.

On the other hand, I can’t think of anything positive when I think of Matt Millen.

Choosing between them is like choosing between hanging or a firing squad for your execution.
