ChicagoCaseyParticipantI had went to ESPN.com to do the lottery – espn.go.com/nba/lottery2016/mockdraft
- Philadelphia 76ers – Brandon Ingram – I view Brandon Ingram and Ben Simmons as a same level prospect. The 76ers needs shooting in a desperate way and some wing depth, Brandon Ingram brings both.
- New Orleans Pelicans – Ben Simmons – This may be perfect for the Pelicans. Anthony Davis need help in a desperate way. By getting a top 2 pick would be a blessing because they can get either Ben Simmons or Brandon Ingram. Imagine Anthony Davis at the 5 and Ben Simmons at the 4. That would be perfect for Alvin Gentry run… run…. run… offense and space/pace game.
- Utah Jazz – Buddy Hield – I went back and forth with this one. It was a tough decision between Buddy Hield and Jamal Murray. I fell like the Jazz want to make the playoff now and why not take the most NBA ready player/prospect in the draft.
- Philadelphia 76ers – Jamal Murray – Another blessing goes to the 76ers by getting the Lakers pick and filling it with another player that can really shoot the rock. Their roster would be looking great w/ Brandon Ingram, Jamal Murray, Jahlil Okafor, Dario Saric, Joel Embiid, and Nerlens Noel.
- Boston Celtics – Dragen Bender – The Celtics should go with BPA and that would be Bender. They need to find a star in the draft and Bender is the best player outside Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram.
- Pheonix Suns – Henry Ellinson – Ellinson is not pretty known in comparison to the other top prospects in this draft, but he’s a stud. He have prototype size for the 4, he can shoot the ball (didn’t have much success in College), can get into the post, and much more.
- Minnesota Timberwolves – Kris Dunn – I know they have Ricky Rubio, but they have to draft Kris Dunn to be the point guard of the future. I know a lot of Timberwolves believe Rubio is the future plans for the team, I don’t see it.
- Denver Nuggets – Jaylen Brown
- Sacromento Kings – Marquese Chriss – I believe the best move is to trade Demarcus Cousins is summer and try to rebuild. A Marquese Chriss/Willie Cauley-Stein frontline can cause havoc on defense and be one of the most explosive frontcourts in the league. Chriss might be my favorite player in the league, he’s heavily built, super explosive, and he can really shoot the ball. He can rise if he measures in around 6’10" at the combine.
- Toronto Raptors – Deyonta Davis – This is a pure "potential" pick for the Raptors. They always lack the talent at the 4 position, they can get a defensive force right here wiith Deyonta Davis. He’s not an instant starter, but should get minutes due to his defensive prowess.
- Milwaukee Bucks – Jakob Poeltl – The Bucks are in liberty to take the BPA at any position. They have a core of Khris Middleton, Jabari Parker, and Giannis, they need to add a low usage/3 point shooting/ defensive minded point guard and a rim protecter. There’s nobody fits the point guard desription, but a player matches the Center description. Jakob Poeltl fits what the Bucks need and he’s the best player available.
- Orlando Magic – Ivan Rabb – The Magic just need to stock pile athletes and see who sticks. Ivan Rabb is the best prospect available.
- Pheonix Suns – Dejounte Murray – Is Eric Bledsoe and/or Brandon Knight the future at point guard? Dejounte Murray is a project and should be on the bence for a year or2 to hone his skills and being able to gain weight.
- Chicago Bulls – Malik Beasly – The Bulls might do a simi-rebuild this summer and they should look to add a prospect that have upside to be a starter in the league. I believe Malik Beasly can be a starter in this league and his athleticism+shooting ability+slashing potential intrigue me
- Denver Nuggets – Skal Labissiere
- Boston Celtics – Timothe Lewawu
- Denver Nuggets – Thon Maker
- Denver Nuggets – Domantis Sabonis
- Detroit Pistons – Denzel Valatine
- Indiana Pacers – Malachi Richardson
- Charlotte Hornets – Tyler Ulis
- Boston Celtics – Stephen Zimmerman
- Atlanta Hawks – Ben Bentil
- Philadelphia 76ers – Furkan Korkmaz
- LA Clippers – Taurean Prince-Waller
- Philadelphia 76ers -Ante Zicik
- Toronto Raptors – Wade Baldwin
- Pheonix Suns – Diamond Stone
- SanAntonio Spurs – Josh Hart
- Golden State Warriors – Deandre Bembry
Would love some feedback. Who’s too high? Low? Should be in the first round?

ChicagoCaseyParticipantThe Nuggets need to go wing w/ this pick due to the fact that that’s their biggest weakness and they have a potent young duo in Jocik (top 5 rookie) and Mudiay.

Hype MachineNice work Casey. I like a man who isn’t afraid to make bold predictions at the risk of being criticised.
Thon Maker is rising up draft boards. Denver can easily afford to use a pick on him.
Word is that Rabb is strongly considering returning to school.
And Ellenson at #6….I dunno man? Seems kinda high. And I think Luwawu and Korkmaz are too low. Those guys are both legit.

giddyup123ParticipantAnyone else find it so obnoxious when quotes like this come out: regarding Tyler Ulis to the Bulls at 14 on that mock draft site… "If he were four or five inches taller, he would be a top 5 pick." 1) Name one guy in this draft’s first round that wouldn’t be a top 5 pick if they weren’t five inches taller. 2) It would be one think to say, "2 inches taller," but 5! that’s a huge difference. So annoying, I expect more from ESPN.

ChicagoCaseyParticipantI find it different in Ulis. He have an elite skill level for a player that is only 5’9". Some of the players that they mention "if they were 5” taller" is that they are super raw. A 6’2"is a great prospect

TheGuyParticipantJust checking; are these your selections and your insight, not what came up through ESPN?
-Would you really want to select Brown if you are Denver to go with with Mudiay. That’s two of your top future core players who are really bad shooters and play on the permiter, seems like a bad combo
-A lot of raw young bigs; Chriss, Davis, Skal, Zimmerman, Maker, not really sure who stands out from the group and I feel like if you are taking someone like that it’s just sorta blind luck if they become good or bad picks.
-Utah getting a top 3 pick would have to be the biggest surprise in draft lottory history.

ChicagoCaseyParticipant- It’s all my insights, all my opinions on why one team should select a player.
- I believe they need a wing player, Brown is the best wing player available. Also, he will be the best player available. The Ideal situation would be if they can land Buddy Hield or Jamal Murray
- If I had to rank them all I would select 1.) Chriss 2.) Davis 3.) Skal 4.) Maker. All kind of hit or miss type of players, but I see Chriss having the highest upside.
- Yeah, I used the ESPN mock draft machine and that happened. If they have a top 3 pick they could have a top 3 level young team, behind Milwaukee and Minnesota
Thanks for the comment. A lot of people would just scroll and dislike.

benny15Participantif the lotto results turn out that way, then i for the most part, agree with your top 5 picks. i respect your own oppinion on phoenix taking Ellenson at 6, i dont think its too high since i have him at 7 in my personal mock, but I think between him and Jaylen Brown, the suns would go with brown. its much closer than what i thought it would be, but ultimately felt that the suns could go with brown because they wont a shortage of quality pf prospects to choose from with their second lotto pick.
never been a fan of the Dunn to minny talk cause i felt that if minny wanted a scorer at the point spot they would simply play zach there more. however, i think they do need to go with the most offensively NBA ready to contribute player here, im hoping for either hield or murray honestly, but with the slide in the order, that dint allow them that chance.
if brown is still there for the nuggets, definitely take him. i like the fit with him there, especially if someone decides to pay barton an ammount denver is unwilling to give during a rebuild.
maybe its just that im not as sold on Marquese as you, he kinda strikes me as the next Maurice Speights, but then with the drop in the lotto, things sac needs become much more scarce. i do agree that the kings should trade cousins, i want to milwaukee for monroe, mcw and jabari or to orlando for vucevic, oladipo and hezonja, and obviously, whichever package they end up getting would affect who they target since at this point theres no clear cut best prospect type.
raptors with davis is fine as well, its a prefference thing honestly, like i would think ivan would be more of their kind of guy. or they can go raw but high upside and take either skal or thon, but nothing wrong with going with davis. im just surprised he declared honestly, havent properly incorporated him in my mock

ChicagoCaseyParticipant- Love the insight and the comment.
- I didn’t really think about the Jaylen Brown to the Suns thing, but that makes perfect sense given the fact that they can draft Jaylen Brown at their first pick and draft either Skal, Chriss, Rabb, or Davis at that other pick. That’s the more logical thing that can happen w/ those two lottery picks.
- Dunn is more than just a scorer though. Zack LaVine don’t have that much fell and playmaking ability to transition the point, permanently. Dunn can be a primary distributer on the Wolves.
- Yeah, Criss is more of a boom or bust pick. He have the highest ceiling and the lowest floor in the group of Rabb, Skal, Ellinson, and Davis. I get that you’re not sold on him. I just believe if he hits his full potential he would a top 5 player in this class. I can see the Spieghts comp., but I can also see a poor man STAT.
- I like Davis more w/ the Raptors because I think the Raptors can swing for the fenses because they have another pick in the first. I would have liked if stayed and worked on his offensive game before leaving, but he was a great on defense and have massive potential.
- On the DMC trades, I don’t really see Milwaukee biting on the DMC deal. I don’t see them moving away for Parker for a player that seem like he can’t get along w/ anyone. Jabari seems a little too much for Cousins. I believe him and Giannis are also untouchable. I like the Orlando deal for Orlando, but the Kings are not getting a "future" star in that deal. At least in the Milwaukee deal they would get one in Jabari, but Oladipo, Mario, and Nikola are not enough. A trade I can see is Denver or the Celtics. They both have high picks, picks, and/or young talent.
