valentineI can’t make this stuff up. Whats going on in Philly?
Nerlens is being sued for extensive damages to his rental property and described as ‘worst renter ever’.
He’s Intentionally busted the joint up. Broke toilets and dishwashers, stained up the carpets with gatorade, left weed and roaches everywhere.
The kicker was the elaborately designed tombstone with RIP written, which the owner perceived as a death threat.
Is this kind of behavior normal for a young guy with limited life experience….or symptomatic of being in a horrible basketball environment?

holefillers1ParticipantI find your conscious stream of thought to be very annoying. You in general my friend are annoying. Every comment from you is meant to be some sort of diatribe were you try to ellaborate on commen sense ideas using some sort of philosophical reasoning. I am quite certain you no very little about basketball. Just call it like I see it. I Scout players the same way. Start using facts hype machine stop setting up scenarios to make your point. You are quite literally the caveot king.

I dont know what anything you wrote actually means…except the part about being annoying.
Yet you scout players the same way?
Sorry buddy if I’m annoying..its not really my story…its in the headlines.
My point/post ratio seems about in line with the site average.
I think you’re being a little bit harsh.

holefillers1Participant"Symptomatic of being in a horrible basketball enviorment." That’s an ignorant statment. I garuntee you know nothing about the current state of that locker room. Or how the players feel and respond to everything going on. But you comment on this type of shite all the time like you know. Hype…you don’t know. Im a fan of this team and I don’t jnow.

Magic JordanParticipantAre you suggesting Hype Machine is a writer for TMZ? Could it be that he annoys you because your team gives him so many things to report on? Quit crying, nobody is forcing you to read his posts.

negguaryParticipanton a basketball organization?? Really?? Are y’all dudes that locked in on critiquing the sixers. So they are supposed to teach players how to clean their homes, wash their car and clean clothes! Like go that away>>>>>. This is a non-story because there’s a thing called a security deposit that is out in pls d to protect the owner from covering possible damages the renter may cause. Is this Noel’s fault or the owner who didn’t set the proper security deposit amount in order to confer the Charges for POETENTIAL DAMAGES.

GBeeParticipantOn or off the floor?
Doesn’t matter, either case I disagree. On the floor he has a poor feel for the game, playing an undisciplined, gambling style of defense and just being generally awful offensively with strange decision making. Off the floor he was non-descript. Dull, uninteresting, zero personality, doesn’t say a whole lot of anything… almost brooding in his interviews. I never got the impression that he was a bright kid.

Hype MachineSomehow a story I’m sharing, that is also being published by sites like Bleacher Report, ESPN, CBS has turned into an assault on my character. Is it because I asked for opinions on the matter?
I’ll admit I talk as much trash than anyone and disagree with opinions as much as I agree, yet haven’t resorted to these kind of low blows.
Is calling out forum users for being ‘dumb’ and ‘annoying’ the norm now?
It wasnt my intention for this thread to be about grudges. Nonetheless, I’d rather get back on topic.

I was referring to Noel, but if you want to take offense IDC.

0- Posted on: Fri, 04/08/2016 - 5:23pm #1053205

MopgrassParticipantIt’s exactly a 19 year old treating the place like a dorm room. Nothing unusual about finding a few joints, a busted toilet, and some prank-like clogged toilets. You know he’s gotta have his high school friends over and things get crazy. Good for him. It would be weird if he didn’t cause some damage. The RIP thing probably isn’t related and not from him. He should pay the fee and go buy his own place to ruin. This is a non-story.

ExumInfernoParticipantThe 76ers really made character something they didn’t consider when building their roster.
Hinkie had a good plan, but it looks like injuries and off court problems derailed it. I guess he hoped to draft the next DeMarcus Cousins, and by the reports he did find some tall players with the same problems.
Trade values there are going down too.

NBAjunkie81Participantunderstands that it’s Ugly….. Now imagine a 21 y/o w/ Millions of Dollars who can rent a Mansion & host All his Boys…….
The Tomb Stone is a Creative Touch but this is more indicitive of a Young man……
However, Combined w/ the Okafor & Embiid stories it Doesn’t seem like Phila’s Management Understands that you have to put some 24 / 7 Structure around Young, Single Multi-Millionaires…..

IlladelphParticipantAre you suggesting that the Sixers need to explain to the players that they are supposed to flush their toilets after every use? Or explain to them how to properly handle their marijuana? I agree that these guys are inexperienced in activities of normal life, but we should be able to expect these men to maintain some basic hygeine, and show respect for other peoples’ property. I would think.

OhCanada-ParticipantNo excuses can be made for this type if behaviour but there maybe a chance that the allegations are a bit exaggerated. Like maybe he threw a party that got out of hand and couldn’t clean up because he had to go on a road trip. There’s a million possibilities.
One way or another as a NBA athlete being paid millions he has a responsibility to uphold the professionalism you would expect from somebody earning that kind of money. At least clean up man!

ChoppyParticipantHow can an owner set a security deposit to cover all potential damages? The amount is set to cover accidents and general negligence (like spilling stuff on the carpets, stains, scratches etc.). For anything outside of that there’s insurance. If he were to cover ALL potential damages the deposit would be astronomical. Intentionally trashing the joint is not going to be covered by a general security deposit, nor should it. It’s definitely NOT the owners fault. He supplied a property in good faith and it was trashed by a moron.
However, suggesting it’s the 76ers fault that Noel is a filthy pig is like suggesting it’s Sacramento’s fault that Cousins is a headcase. A bit of a reach.

negguaryParticipantProbably still live with mom.
Here’s the official definition
A security deposit is a deposit of money to the landlord to ensure that rent will be paid and other responsibilities of the lease performed (e.g., paying for damage caused by the tenant).
This is something you learn as early as college living in an off campus apartment…You break a window, punch a hole in the wall, leave a permanent ring in the shower, broken toilet, dishwashers which are all things that a proper security deposit can cover. Now if the guy stole the pipes from the house, or broke them, or intentionally malfunctioned the electrical work then cool I see where you’re coming from but in this case that’s exactly what a security deposit is for, people who either are jerks have a bad relationship with the owner who in turn trash the place or people who make common mistakes. So thank you but no thank you PAL!

ChoppyParticipantMate, having been in the housing market since ’06 and rented my house out for a year before moving into it, I kinda already knew that stuff.
You may have missed my point but I’ll say it again for you: The damage must have been extensive for this to get such a write up. Extensive damage is not covered by a security deposit. The end.
