So… In an attempt to get more posters active on here, and to have a fun game to play right now. I want to do an ultimate NBA Re-Draft. We will draft one round (30 players) of the all time greats. Basically we are making a GOAT list. What we will do is we will start with pick #1. So who… in your opinion is the Greatest Basketball Player of All Time. We’ll do a new one everyday and I’ll post the new one around 2 ET every day. So get your picks in…

MJ is the greatest player of all time in my opinion and without question. But give me 20 years and close to 40,000 points of Kareem if I am starting a team with the first pick.

I would say there is a bigger drop off between MJ (and Kobe) from a scoring guard position than from the top center to the next 5 or 6. For that reason I lock up MJ with my first pick.

WNBA redraft #1 is Lauren Jackson, who retired today. Didnt want to start a new thread since interest in women’s basketball is low….
An All-time great career comes to an end. Was even better in International Basketball…winning multiple Olympic and World Championship medals.
She had a huge rivalry with the US women’s team, who absolutely hated her. Her dream to beat them at the Olympics remained unfulfilled however…which would have meant more than all her WNBA championships and MVPs combined.
If not the greatest all time….then certainly in the conversation.
