I happened to read this article yesterday.  To paraphrase Pitino, he says that Lousiville did not need to use sex parties to get recruits because Louisville is not like Kentucky which recruits one-and-dones.  Now, I can’t figure out if he meant that Louisville would need to use sex parties to successfully recruit elite players, or if he is actually saying that Kentucky uses sex parties to recruit elite players.  EIther way, I don’t see his comments reflecting well on the Louisville program.   And why bring Kentucky into the conversation at all?  Any thoughts guys?

Bitter Rick is wrong. UofL does recruit one and dones, they just don’t get them.

Rick Pitino is alright but those comments make no sense. Sex parties aside, former players generally speak of him highly and has a good track record as a coach.

As for the sex parties..I believe way more teams do it than just Louisville. Kentucky probably doesnt since they’re a basketball factory and the NBA is already a sweeter incentive to commit.

Anything goes in Recruitment as far as I’m concerned. Fair play will get you no-where with bigtime prospects. Just dont get caught!

I’m not saying it’s wrong to use sex parties to recruit players ( except that the guys are most likely underage and the women not) But why would they pay hookers? I’m sure that there are PLENTY of college coeds that would have done it for free.

Isn’t the bigger issue as far as news is concerned, is that they paid prostitutes to seduce the guys? Would it be as big an issue if it was just a few sorority girls off campus?

I think it would be worse if a bunch of girls who are attending College to get an education were asked by the Basketball Coach if they could hook up with guys for the purpose of recruiting.

That seems like a law suit waiting to happen. Do they walk around campus scouting the ones with the best ass?

Seems safer to just get some hookers. I dunno about Louisville…but its not illegal where I’m from. Unethical? Maybe…but ethics are subjective.

As for girls wanting to do it for free…thats tough man. Anything can happen before the deal is done. The girl might get sleepy from all the booze and pass out on the couch..next thing you know the recruits committed to Oklahoma State.
