JoeWolf1They landed Marion, Gorat, and resigned Jason Kidd, Greg Buckner and Kris Humphries were also thrown in the deal, they lost Stackhouse, Wright, and George, but i think those moves are enough to land them in the top of the Western race again, with SA landing Jefferson and Blair in the 2nd round, the Mavs and Spurs are on their way back to the top of the West again

aarondsonixfanParticipantthey don’t have gortat yet.. plus they won’t beat out the Lakers. Yeah I think they could get 2nd and 3rd seeds but they won’t be in title contention

NYKnicksuperFanParticipantif they cant get Odom back then i think Dallas, LA, and the Spurs are around equal, with Denver a close fourth in the Western Conference, if Portland can get Odom or Lee then they deserve to be put up their too

aarondsonixfanParticipantBlazers aren’t getting Odom. They want to get Millsap but I don’t think that it’s going to happen. I think they might be able to get Bass which would still be a nice “consolation prize” if they don’t get Millsap or Lee.

kaceyParticipantBuckner will be released.
Mavericks also signed Ross. Humphries will be a decent backup every now and then. I’m hoping Singleton will be around next year, he really stepped up late in the season picking up plenty of double-doubles.
I’m glad to see George and Wright leaving. I have never been a fan of George, I’ve never understood what he brings to the table as an NBA player. Hubie Brown always seemed real high on him for some reason. Antoine Wright was starting to become a headcase during the playoffs. I would go as far to say he lost a game for us against the Nuggets and I’m not just talking about the no-call on Melo.

CorningKingsFan31Participantif josh howard gets back to where he was a year or so ago then this team is dangerous. you could argue they dont have a productive center but they never really have. and if im san antonio i would try to see what it would take to get odom. hed be a nice fit there……

j1232eParticipantC Dampier/Gortat
PF Dirk
Sf Marion
sg Howard
pg Kidd
Pretty solid starting 5
Terry of the bench scary!0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/09/2009 - 5:38pm #179431
kaceyParticipantI’m sure they will have a lineup of Dirk, Marion, Howard, Terry, and Kidd during the game as well. That is a very solid lineup. Heck, I would even like it if Barea received some PT with that lineup. I always thought JJ was a perfect match for Dirk when they would run the two man game. JJ either hits Dirk for the open jumper or he drives in for a layup.
I like that the Mavericks have been making noise this offseason and not just sitting around watching the Spurs and Lakers improve their roster. I knew Cuban would open up that check book this offseason.
I’m still hoping they can manage to resign Bass (very unlikely) and James Singleton (likely) to deepen that bench a little bit more.
