valentineSince the Pools have been released for the upcoming Olympics, I thought a preview of the group would be appreciated.
Pool Consists of…
USA
AUSTRALIA
VENEZUELA
CHINA
TEAM 5 TBD
TEAM 6 TBD
The game of the group could be interesting, and features USA vs Australia. (Lineups speculative)
Backcourt – Dellavedova, Patty Mills and Exum vs Curry, Harden, CP3
Frontcourt – Simmons, Bogut, Aaron Baynes vs Leanard, Durant, Davis
Does anyone think this could be a really close game?
Who you got?

BleedGreen808ParticipantDo you expect Simmons to risk injury right after getting drafted? Same with Exum coming off an ACL tear which occured last year while playing for Australia.

Hype MachineIts all speculative at this stage. Just hope for the best.
Considering Nike pays way more than his NBA salary and has a hot new Simmons Signature Sneaker just waiting to show the world…its a possibility.
I prefer to go best case scenario. Truth is, no-one knows.

Hype MachineFactor in that Delly is the Curry Stopper and Mills was the leading scorer at the previous Olympics and it could be a slight edge to the Aussies in the backcourt.
But given the higher IQ frontcourt with Simmons (and his $100m shoes), the best rim protector and passing bigman in the game (Bogut)…the edge might go to the Aussies in a 40minute FIBA Rules matchup (no travelling, goaltending allowed, etc)

Jr. ROXASParticipantDelly is not the Curry Stopper.

McDunkinIt’s kind of early to do a group preview when rosters haven’t been decided yet…or even the full groups
