OaktownWarriorsParticipantHey guys, just thinking ahead…
So when the Rockets don’t make the playoffs and the Clippers don’t make it out of the 1st or 2nd round again, or OKC fall short again in the playoffs, or the Cavs not winning a ring. What do you see those teams doing during the off season? Blowing up the team and move players? Some coaches getting fired?

natevalParticipantOKC ends up getting bounced earlier then expected. Durnat teams up with Horford in the offseason to join the Celtics

phila9012ParticipantI think if OKC and cleveland can hold on and add a player, like a 3 and D wing for the thunder and a consistant center for the cavs, they still are an injury away from a championship next year. Rockets probably have to change something up, they are a player or two and a leader away from contending for a championship. I think the clippers are kind of stuck, they can’t really improve their team much but they are still really good, I would give it at least another year or two and then go full rebuild if nothing works out.

r377ParticipantThe Rockets are one of the few teams dumb enough to pay Harrison Barnes $20 mill per season.
I think Houston will need to rebuild and blow it up. They will lose Howard and will struggle to find many top FA that will want to play with Harden. I am guessing they will sign some second and third tier FA and try and aim for that 7th or 8th seed in the 16-17 playoffs….
I still think back to one of the rudest things I have seen in the NBA. When Houston were trying to court Melonoma, they had big billboards of melo in a no7 Houston Rockets Jersey. Jeremy Lin was playing and wearing no7 at the time. Talk about disrespectful….
Along with Nets, Kings and Sixers, the Rockets are one of the most dysfunctional teams….

Chilbert arenasParticipantHarrison Barnes ends up with Lakers and fills that 3 spot nicely
Fornier ends up with Spurs, seems like a perfect fit once Manu moves on
Rockets overpay for Whiteside and even more drama ensues
Simmons ends up on Suns! Perfect fit with Knight and Booker back court and Len up front

jabbar_medvedenkoParticipantI agree with 377 about the Rockets…as Cuban said last year, that’s just not a very good team out there, ever since they let Parsons go, trying (and failing) to find that 3rd star. I don’t think this summer will be any different.
As long as LeBron is there, Cavs are contenders and I don’t see any major shakeup. There are questions about the chemistry between the Big 3 but I think it all comes to place by the time the playoffs roll around.
Chris Paul has good two years (maybe more) of top basketball ahead of him and a nice core in place with Griffin, Jordan and Redick. If only they could find some additional depth, which is not impossible with the spiking cap, I think they’re ready to seriously make a run at the Larry O’Brien trophy. I think they give the Dubs a run for their money in the 2nd round this year.
I don’t think OKC has a good system or a coach that fits them well. They have two of the best players in the league, but are so shallow after that. I think that the years of frustration after trading Harden and not making the Finals since 2012 eventually prevail and Durant leaves after a 2nd round exit.
