Arc12345ParticipantLillard has always been one of my favorite players, but wow this guy is cooking. And he’s doing it against the league’s best guards. He had 51 against Curry and GS, 50 against Lowry and Toronto, and 41 against Wall and Washington. All after his All-Star snub.
It’s incredibly unlikely, but how awesome would it be to see him make the All-NBA First Team after not being an All Star? They don’t seem to always adhere to strict positions looking back at former All-NBA First Teams. Obviously Curry is a lock, but beyond that it’s pretty debatable who will get on that first team at any position. Although some players are way more likely than others, I really don’t think there’s a lock besides Curry.
Candidates for the last 4 spots: Durant, Lebron, Draymond, Westbrook, Cousins, Kawhi, Drummond, Harden, CP3, Lillard.
At this point, that other guard spot is probably going to go to Westbrook but I’m not sure I’d agree with that. Could Westbrook do what Lillard has done in Portland? I really don’t know…

Arc12345ParticipantGot to throw Lowry’s name in there as well since I feel Lillard at least deserves consideration. Dude has played so well.

ballislyfe25ParticipantIt’s going to be close between Westbrook and Lillard for the 2nd guard spot. Lillard is having an incredible season but so is Westbrook, and maybe we are a bit accustomed to what Westbrook brings each and every night. I’ll be fine with either guy on the 1st team and I love what Lillard is doing and the way he plays the game but if I had a vote mine would likely go to Westbrook this year. Whoever doesn’t make the first team should be a lock for the 2nd team.

OhCanada-ParticipantDont be so quick to forget. He did it last year. The Thunder finished 45-37 with a team riddled with injuries and trades throughout the season. They missed the playoffs by what one game? Westbrook played 67 games, Ibaka 64 and Durant 27. Not only that but Kanter was introduced, Waiters was introduced and Jackson traded. That team went through alot. but he led them to an above .500 record in a tougher Western conference than this years. He averaged 28-ppg, 8-apg, and 7-rpg. This year he is averaging 25-ppg, 10-apg, and 5-rpg. Lilliard is amazing and I’m not taking anything away from him but let’s not take away from how special Westbrook is.

lalailaParticipantcompletely agree. People gets too hyped up..
All-NBA teams are all about production and success
I take 24/7/10 over 26/4/7 any day
And when you count the first does is on the third best team in the West and has the chance to be MVP runner-up
while other isn’t still so sure about the playoffs its no brainer.
Still, Lillard is a superstar after the ASW, no doubt.

Huh???
Westbrook carried the Thunder last year while getting triple doubles left and right. They missed out on the playoffs due to a Pelicans win at game # 82. Portland is only 6th seed because the west is significantly worse this year from the last few playoff spots and below. Not downplaying Lilliard’s season, but Westbrook had a better season last year and this year.0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/09/2016 - 9:49am #1047186
