what’s going on with hassan whiteside’s free throws?

    last 8 games he’s averaging 84% … and he’s shot quite a few, 44, that is 5’5 a game and 7’5 in the last 4 games..

this guy seems to learn and get better every game.. if he hits the free throws he’s gonna be a monster..

seriously i’ve never seen anyone block shots like him except russell, with that timing and not just swatting the ball but keeping it in his hands, which should count as a block and as a steal 🙂  he’s averaging 4 blocks in less than 29 min/game..

I don’t like him. He still has maturity issues that tend to pop up every now and then and his blocks average is great but he’s sacrificing defense on his man by playing over to get in position to block shots leaving his man open and also leaving his man open with great positioning to get the offensive rebound. Sullinger ate him alive on the boards last time the Celtics played them

I’m still on the fence…but knowing how NBA contracts work, I’m pretty much 100% sure that I wouldn’t spend the money on him that someone will spend this Summer. I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if his contract is around $18-20m a season, if not more.

And about the ‘two-handed block/catch the ball out of the air’ thing – technically, as there’s a shot attempt, there should always be a rebound after a block – so therefore that should go down on the stat sheet as a block plus a rebound – a great way to pad stats 🙂

I’m going to be so pissed  if the Lakers offer him a max but I can see it happening this offseason. His character flaws are too much of a risk for a team in rebuilding mode

This is a testament to his hardwork. Not only is Whiteside working on free throws but also working on the mid range game as well. He may be immature at times but you can tell he works hard on his game unlike some Centers. Now, Maybe Dwight, Deandre or Andre Drummond can do the same as well with their free throws. About teams paying this guy the max, he wants to play for a winning team and it’s not all about the money and there are only a few teams who could provide that with cap space.
