 His lack of strength is what really hurts him in the post offensively and defensively.  It also makes it hard for him to get and hold position for rebounds.  However, I really like what he’s shown early in this game because you can see the talent he has.   A nice turnaround hook shot, mid-range jumper and he’s making an impact with his shotblocking.

Skals been hypped for this ever since Simmons sucker punched him in the guts during their last meeting.

We might even see Skalandjamal make a comeback if he keeps this up.

I have been one of his many critics but it is nice to finally see him play like the guy that was projected so high.

Apparently Coach Cal didn’t like the way he practiced yesterday and said he was going to "talk" with him before the game so whatever he said worked I guess. If he plays like this going forward with the guard play UK has you have to at least consider them as a team to make a Final Four run.

He’s not gonna be able to do what a lot of NBA centers can do. And that’s something that teams aren’t gonna want.

 It’s been a LONG LONG process for Skal.  I’ve been very critical of him in recent posts.  It’s not his fault he was overhyped by recruiting analysts.  His high school career was non-existent and he had no business being the top ranked player in his class.  In terms of being a lottery pick, I mean he has talent and could contribute down the road, but I see him being at least 4-5 years away.  Lottery teams are usually looking for guy to contribute right away.  I’d take him late in the first round so he could go to a playoff team and develop him slowly.  Imagine what Pop could do with him.  You could say that about most guys with the Spurs though.  He desperatley needs to stay in school in my opinion.  I worry that the NBA factory hype at Kentucky will go to his head and he’ll come out and end up in Europe or in the D-League in a year.
