Stephen Curry’s huge year is overshadowing the amazing year Damian Lillard is having. When we talk about Steph hitting 3’s that most people wouldn’t dare take, we have to acknowledge that Lillard’s been doing it all year too. He’s the closest thing there is to a Curry type of shooter, and he’s been going off lately. He tallied another 50 point game tonight to cap off a streak of 30 point games in which the Blazers have been on a tear. They even put up a W against the Warriors recently, with Lillard leading the way with 51. Lillard’s been showing amazing leadership qualities this year as well along with the incredible stats he’s putting up. Where does he rank among the top 20 players this season?

Top 20 player? But he wasn’t even an All Star…

I repeat when I say that was the biggest All Star snub in history. Find me something more ridiculous considering the year he’s having and the circumstances. He should definitely make an the All-NBA team, so how do you make the All NBA team but NOT the All Star game? Simply absurd.

In regards to top 20 players…it’s hard to say. I won’t name a list because people get sensitive as hell, but possibly as high as top 10. He’s been that good.

Agreed, I think he really used it as motivation when he got snubbed. Not that he got mad or anything, but Lillard’s always had a chip on his shoulder. Getting snubbed definitely just motivated him even more.

Lillard should make an all NBA team

Dragic made the 2014 All NBA 3rd team but wasn’t an allstar so it has happened before.

He has it so many long distance 3’s this year that haven’t counted because of the whistle, he was robbed the other night against Boston when a whistle was blown is he was in his shooting motion from way back.

He doesn’t have Curry’s ball skills but he can throw the ball down and puts players like Gobert on posters.

He is still a few quite a few years younger than Curry and he is this impressive, what willl he be like when he is Curry’s current age?

Curry was good a few years ago but the hype only took off during last season.

There was really nothing Toronto could do to keep him from scoring 50 tonight. He was hitting those semi contested 26 foot threes. I really though they were gonna snap the Raptors 12 game home win streak. Him and Mcollum make an amazing backcourt.

But really it pales in comparison to what Curry is doing. I know the whole point of this thread is to take Lilliard out of Curry’s shadow but man…he’s averaging 36-ppg, 7-threes, 6-assists and shooting 55% over the last month and his team doesn’t lose.

Lilliard is doing amazing as well. 30-ppg, 6-apg, 4-threes, and 45% over the same 30 days. That’s still amazing efficiency for a gaurd that is unheard of. But what Curry is doing is literally video game stats.

Do you know what I love about these two guys, it’s the fact they are from small schools and that they had 3 and 4 year college careers.

Rose averaged 25, 4, 7 and he was the MVP. Lillard averages 25 4 and 7 and he’s not even an all-star. Not discrediting Rose’s accomplishment, but it just shows how badly Lillard was snubbed this all-star game.

When it was clear Aldridge was leaving right after the NBA Finals & the Draft, I was a big fan of how quickly the Portland Neil Olshy accepted it & pivoted Portland to a reorganization of the team……

the 2014/15′ Portland Trailblazers posted a 51 – 31 record…… They won the Northwest Division w/ OKC felled by Durant’s injury…… & Finished the season as a #4 seed…… but were promptly bounced from the NBA playoffs by #5 seed Memphis Grizzlies by 4 – 1…..

Aldridge was the Reg. season Leading scorer at 23 ppg….. Lillard was next at 21 ppg….. Portland had a roughly 6 man deep rotation that scored in double figures….. & played 30 min per game…. NO ONE else Averaged more than 18 min & say 4 to 8 PPG……  Wesley Matthews, Nicolas Batum, Arron Afflalo & Robin Lopez rounded out that Top 6 / 30 MPG & 10 PPG (rounded up) group……

Of those 6 Only Lillard remains w/ the team…… I was calling it a "Rebuild" in the summer through the end of the 2015 calender year…. but the term hardly applies anymore….. If we were told last summer that Portland would lose that Veteran Core…….

And not only would they Not miss the playoffs in the Ultra competitive Western Conference ….. but they would have a Strong chance to Match or possibly Exceed the accomplisments of the 2014/15′ Portland squad W/O the aforementioned players……. Not accomplish the same record or win the Division perhaps……. But come close…….. & give a More competetive 1st round performace…. we would have called that person Crazy…..

Portland is a Very exciting young squad & Olshey deserves praise…..

If I’m Al Horford I would take a good long look at joining Lillard in Portland. Horford would be a very nice compliment to Lillard and McCollum, with some other small tweaks this team could honestly be a Championship contender.

Horford, Plumlee, Aminu, McCollum, Lillard with a bench of Leonard, Crabbe, Davis, Vonleh, Henderson, a solid back-up PG like a Lin could build a very nice team.

I think someone is going to over pay Meyers Leonard, and Portland should let him walk if that happens.

I am so glad that OKC matched on Enes Kanter. I think Porland should go after both Horford and Harrison Barnes and have the Chief (Aminu) off of the bench. That could be a very nice team.

You know how much Barnes is asking for? But you don’t wanna overpay for Meyers. Crabbe is gonna be cheaper than Barnes and is very similar other than rebounding so they should not go after Barnes, but Parsons.

Barnes is young and a two way player, he can be a third/fourth option. He is in the same age group as Damian and co. I know how much he wants, and he hasn’t got that yet.

Most thought Meyers would be the starting PF but his defence isn’t up to standard, he can shoot but he is inconsistant and doesn’t have drive to fight for that spot.

"There are reports out there that believe Portland’s offer to Leonard was four years for $60 million, but that has not been confirmed." That is via an article but if that is true that is only $4mil les than what Harrison was offered both turned down what they were offered.

Parsons is already on $15.36m this year and will likely get more in FA this year.

Allen Crabbe is a 2/3 and barnes is a 3/4 so they are not comparable.
