TWeeksParticipantLong time lurker but never posted before. Saw this yesterday and thought it was interesting. Has anyone watched the last two tournaments? What’s the catch?

ChewyParticipantThe first year was won by the Notre Dame Alumni team. Despite being different ages, they were able to run a lot of the same sets. They said that was a key to their winning it all. That along with all being Mike Brey guys.
The second year was won because of 3 point shooting. Overseas Elite were undersized in the last 4 rounds of the tourney. They were led by the future MIP’s little brother, McCollum.
The refs seemed to be quality refs. None of the games I watched looked like street ball. More like a very very rich man’s rec league.
One thing I’ve noticed was that YOUTH BEATS SKILL. This tournament is for people 1-3 yrs removed from college. I’ll take a 23 yr old guard playing overseasons, then a Grandpa Mike Bibby (he played like garbage last tournament!)

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI saw some of it last summer and it was decent for what it was. There were several former pros in the games who hadn’t been heard from in awhile and it was interesting to see. Some, like Hakeem warrick, looked like they could still play in the league while some, like Mike sweetney, looked like they literally spent the past five years in the refrigerator. You could tell which teams had really practiced together and prepared and which teams were just thrown together on the fly. Some of the play was very choppy and it doesn’t compare at all to an NBA or college game but it’s worth checking out if your a true basketball junkie.
