dmo21ParticipantJust thought it would be fun to make a Warrior-esque team using non-Warriors. Using Golden State’s top ten players, I made a team that have similar skills and roles right now. This was quickly done and mainly looked at traditional stats and their playing types. So here we go:
Steph Curry: Kyle Lowry, a team first point guard who can pass, shoot, drive and somewhat defend. (HM is Damian Lillard, not enough defense).
Klay Thompson: Avery Bradley, defensive 2 guard who can shoot (Bradley is shooting pretty good this year) as well as handle the ball. (HM is Wes Matthews, too much of a spot up shooter).
Harrison Barnes: Trevor Ariza, big defensive wing that can play small man 4. Can hit the spot up 3 as well. (HM is Chandler Parsons, not quite the defender and not much experience at the 4).
Draymond Green: Kawhi Leonard, big time team first player. Can handle the ball, shoot, drive, pass and defend. Has the size and aggresiveness to play the 3, 4 and 5. (HM is Khris Middleton, has the size to play 3 positions but just a level lower at everything besides shooting compared to Green).
Andrew Bogut: Roy Hibbert, big shot blocker who plays solid team defensive. Has under used offensive skill to the free throw line. Can’t play small ball. (HM is Robin Lopez, has the defensive pedigree, but lacks the small offensive game).
Andre Iguodala: Matt Barnes, big wing defender who gives his all and can hit the spot up 3. (HM is Ginobili, has the offense, size and ball handling but lacks the defense).
Mareese Speights: JJ Hickson, big man that is strictly offense and rebounding. Only good in spurts. Offensive game includes attacking the offensive boards to spot up 15 footers. (HM is Jason Smith, not as active as a rebounder).
Shaun Livingston: Andre Miller, veteran point guard who is good at handling the ball and managing the game. Does not shoot 3s. (HM is Beno Udrih, just less of a player in most aspects).
Leandro Barbosa: Devin Harris, speedy guard that can play the 1 or the 2. Main focus is scoring (in many different aspects) but can do some ball handling and passing. (HM is Roberts, too small to play beside a regular sized point guard).
Festuz Ezeli: Clint Capela, big, strong, athletic center who is a menace on the glass and can do put backs and alley oops. Strong shot blocker. (HM is Gorgui Dieng, doesn’t have as much of size).
Let me know what you think. Which ones do you agree/disagree with? Who are better representatives per player in your mind?

KingslayerParticipantIn almost every case, the doppelgänger player is inferior to the original. Which is a credit the to Warriors’ talent more than anything else.
