After years of god awful dunk contests, this year featured an amazing duel between Aaron Gordon and Zach Levine. Both Drummond and Barton were a complete joke especially Barton with his idoitic entrance and over the top nonsense in the beginning. Drummond was a huge let down as I expected more power from him, but instead it just got silly with him and Nash out there. However, Levine and Gordon brought it back to the Jordan and Wilkins days o the 80s. I really hope those two are in it next year and we at least have some standards for the other contestants and not just allow anyone in it. I’d love to see Blake out there again with Levine and Gordon.

Another thing that made these two truely amazing was their efficeincy. In that duel in the end, I think Leveine missed one dunk which in fairness was a freaking alley oop from the free throw line.

I hope the NBA takes note and takes this event more serious. It was extremely entertaining and with the right people in it can make the whole experience more enjoyable.

Gordon and lavine killed it, but I don’t think its on the nba to find the right guys. they invite the best possible people they can. How many lavines and gordons are in the nba right now willing to do it? They actually offered larry nance a spot and while im not gonna say he could beat Zach or Gordon, he would have sure done better then Drummond and barton. Also, drummonds nash dunk was legit, it just took him too many times. Its like the year where nate robinson took 15 tries on a dunk and they still gave him a 50(not making that up, he actually got a 50 on the fifteenth attempt). You should be docked for how many tries which sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t.

I thought Gordon should have won but it was so close they both won.

     Aaron Gordon is not human!!!

I mean well done for LaVine he is amazing and everything ..

But Aaron’s 3rd and especially 4th dunks was even more then 50 like Reggie said I think, while LaVine was just one little step behind in my mind.

AG was cheated on his last dunk. His dunks were much more entertaining because he was creative with it. All of lavine’s dunks were just variations of things we have seen him do in dunk contests before.

I agree, I thought Lavine’s dunks were nice but he kept just changing up the same things ever so slightly. Gordon was doing some stuff I’ve never seen. Both did great but I think Gordon should have had the slight edge. Fun duel regardless.

The greatest NBA dunk contest ever!!

The NBA should pay Lavine and Gordon just to participate the next couple years.

Can we stop with the big men in the contest. I guess Dwight won it 1 year and Javale McGee was interesting and really creative the 1 year but in general, It just doesn’t work.

Classic duel between jumping styles. The 1 foot graceful glider dunker vs. the 2 foot creative power dunker. There was a thread a few months ago about 1 and 2 foot jumping techniques and last night we saw the best of both worlds.

I think Gordon should have won and I can’t wait for the rematch.

I think AG should’ve won it, He’s creative and he’s a video game, Lavine dunks were amazing but it’s boring cause you know the dunk he’ll attempt, with gordon, there’s so much mystery what dunk he’ll have, plus he’s a big man with freak athleticism, Even all time great dunkers cannot do what AG did IMO, Even VC or Nique. He’s got a body of a jellyfish that twists and turns lol. but that’s my opinion

Definitely the best dunk contest ever. Anybody who says different is just trying to be a hipster, and probably wasn’t born when the dunk contest in question took place.
