TheGuyParticipantI’m a UCLA grad and man this has been a season from hell. There’s no reason why we should be 13-11, we have the talent to at least be consitently one of the better team in the Pac-12. Outside of his son, Steve Alford has done nothing to warrant keeping his job. Guerrero is an even worse AD but that’s another topic. There’s no way Steve Alford should keep his job, losing at home to Monmouth, losing to godawful Washington St, getting SWEPT by USC. Oh my lord, here’s the door please get the hell out.
I’m not here to suggest who UCLA should hire, I honestly don’t care who we get because ANYONE would be better than Steve Alford. I swear, he doesn’t actually coach the players, as evident by our god awful defense or our directionless offense where we wait until 5 seconds left on the shot clock and hope Bryce will bail us out.
We really miss Looney, he was really good last year and gave us much needed defense and rebounding. I didn’t fault him for coming out because at the time he was thought of as a lotto pick and I think he has the talent and would be a great fit in today’s uptempo, spread out NBA where a lot of the 4’s are evolving into playing out in the periminter.
I even think we have a talented team, not a great team that is a title contender but in this down season we should be competing for the the Pac-12 and easily be a tournament team. I could dive in more into the team, but it would jus depress me because we have talent.
When will this nightmare end?

TheGuyParticipantGood athlete, average skills, no confidence on offense. Solid on defense. He’s young, he could develop and become a good player. Only a sophmore but in today’s era top 50 recruits are expected to be good early on. I don’t think he’s as good as he was touted, but he can play, really just needs confidence.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantI am also a huge UCLA fan. I just think it is inconsistency. Alford is good and he can shoot but he is not good enough. Prince Ali should be stepping up more. Holiday is really good, reminds me of CP3, but he needs to command the ball more and set stuff up. Bolden is not as advertised. Hamilton is a good role player and the bigs are really good. I think it is the offense. Next year with Kobe and Lonzo coming in next year, it should be a better flow. But how the heck are you gonna play Kobe, Lonzo, Aaron, Ali, Hamilton and Alford????? I have no idea how that is going to work out. I am smelling a Tyler Lamb like transfer and it might be from Prince. I hope not though.. I just think they need to Gel, and with Leaf replacing Parker next year they could have a good run

llperezIf they miss the tourney this year, which as of right now they certainly will, that will be embarrassing. But Steve Alford’s saving grace is that he has an amazing recruiting class coming in. Lonzo ball is a top 5 recruit, tj leaf is ranked 15th I believe then they got Kobe paras and another big man who is ranked top 50 nationally all coming in. And the only guy leaving this year should be tony Parker. Basically if they aren’t elite next year then maybe it’s time to start looking around.
I think next years starting 5 will be
Pg- Lonzo ball
Sg-Bryce Alford
Sg-Isaac Hamilton
Pf-tj leaf
C-Thomas welshTop Bench guys: Jonah bolden, Aaron holiday
Then everyone else gets scrap minutes.
