ItsRainingNegsParticipantI don’t get on here much, but I need a consensus answer a question.
I get why Demarcus Cousins is deemed untouchable. He’s a legitimate top ten talent and Sacremento won’t have a chance at the caliber of player for a long, long time if they dump him. So of course they wouldn’t dream of trading him.
I also understand that the Clippers want to win now, they have a small window yadayadayada. But how, and I truly mean how, is Blake Griffin not untradeable? I was listening to the BS Podcast and I think Habo said that he wouldn’t trade freaking Faried, Gallo, and Will freaking Barton for Griffin!
Am I behind the curve? Wasn’t BG the third or fourth best player in the league (general opinion) after his playoff run last year? Wasn’t he the centerpiece of why the Clippers aren’t the ass end of the NBA joke?
This is not a Demarcus vs. Griffin argument, just a comparison of two guys I think are pretty equal talents and two of the top five big men in the league and questioning why Griffin is so casually thrown around in trade conversation.
Let the negs rain.

Hype MachineIts one thing to throw their names around as fans that just want to see some drama.
Its another for a GM to actually trade them.
Boogie seems closer to being traded than Griffin because hes way more destructive. The Clippers are perenial contenders and even if you dont win the championship…just being a top 4 team is admirable and a credit to everyone.
Griffin punched a dude…hes an idiot. But hes not toxic. We all make dumb mistakes. Hes not going anywhere because his presence provides more good than harm.

OaktownWarriorsParticipantFirst off, the Clips are not contenders….no! The past three seasons have proven that. The Clips cant even get pass the 2nd rd, plus their drama attacks they have. I believe neither team will trade either player, however i believe Boogie would get Sactown more in return?

properbreaksParticipantCousins is tradeable, they just haven’t pulled the trigger yet. It’s a difference at how their organizations and the entire league look at Griffin and Cousins. Blake has been in the playoffs several years and Boogie still hasn’t gotten there and now that they are at least close to making it; it’s the same complaints and drama as usual. You wonder if Cousins ever really thinks about how his antics take away from the team in terms of winning or losing.
I’m kind of surprised how people are so quick to say get rid of Griffin because you don’t want to remember what the Clippers used to look like before Blake came. They were terrible for decades….. On top of all of that, he’s a showman and fans want to see him and he’s one of those guys that you want to see on tv. That’s more money for the Clippers organization.
