Alpha Kaba – Potential Riser

 Alpha Kaba is one of my favourite prospects in this years draft. He is an athletic 6’10" 225lb french bigman with a 7’5" wingspan who pulled out of last years draft as a projected draft and stash 2nd round pick.

Kaba currently is playing for KK Mega Vizura and is averaging 9 point 6 rebounds over 11 games in 20 minutes. In his predraft workouts he looked very impressive showcasing his jumpshot which is money from midrange and his ability to stretch the floor out to the NBA 3. In interviews he talked about how he understands his role as a stretch 4 and is working on becoming stronger and developing his post game.

He has the potential to become an elite shot blocker due to his length and ability to get off the ground. The main weakness in Kaba’s game is his intensity, he doesn’t seem to put in full effort on offense and defense at times but when he does he is very impressive. Alpha Kaba has good experience having already played international basketball and he is only 20 years old (born Jan 9th 1996). 

Kaba is a project but I believe he could fall anywhere between late teens to early second round due to his great shooting touch, nba ready body, age and valuable role player potential.
