Durant pften said that when he was a kid, his dream was to become a Raptor intrestingly enough.. I think Toronto would be a great destination for him, they have a great group of guys and awesome fans.. He would also be playing in the east and basically have to compete with only one team to go to the finals.. Lebron is also aging so he should consider this.. Going to the east is the smarter choice here.. I dont even want to think of him joining Golden State, he would join Lebron and Brady in the most hated athletes category IMO..

Not sure they would have the cap for it but Lowry-Derozan-Caroll-Durant-Valanciunas could win a championship with some roster tweaks..

    What do you all think?

Chances of KD going to Toronto are slim to none

I’d advise sticking to what you do best…..drinking Ouzo and dancing the zorba

Leave the free agency speculation to the veterans

Dude, that was a bit harsh coming from someone who posted a topic about The Lakers getting Westbrook, Durant and Ben Simmons in the offseason…

        It wasn’t really that harsh…

The Greek guys been known to unleash a few expletive ridden rants on here…I’m kinda hoping he sends one my way.

It makes sense. He is what they are missing.

Durant will likely either sign a one year deal to stay in okc or attempt to go to the warriors. I couldn’t really see him going anywhere else.

Teams. Superstar team up is old and boring. Teams with 4 to 5 all stars? Boring.

When I first heard rumors of KD to Toronto, I’d obviously wanted it to happen as a homer but didn’t think there was a pipers dream chance it would happen.

But now, trying my best to think as non homer, doesn’t it make the most sense? He joins the 2nd best team in the east, with no established superstar, so he will still be the number 1 option. He will have a point guard who passes him the ball. NBA can more market this Durant/Lebron “rivalry”. He won’t get criticized for “teaming up”. He’s friends with Drake and DeMar DeRozan.

Raptors are one player away from being serious contenders, KD is that one player.

I think the Raptors will be a serious threat to sign Durant, not just because he grew up as a fan of them, but also the fact the East is not as competitive as the West even though this year the East has picked up. That core of Derozan, Lowry and Durant would be dirty, Lowry is a beast and he would fit perfectly along side Durant, Although Toronto does play a ton of ISO ball, adding Durant would make Lowry and even bigger threat because of the three ball, Derozan would also get his one on one matchups and not draw double teams. I think OKC is still the favourites despite the rumors because i feel Durant is a loyal guy, But the Raptors would be the def favourites in the East if this happens. They would probably have to trade Carrol and Valanciunas to make it happen, but they have a solid core, and they really are just one superstar away from being a serious threat.

The Raptors certainly make sense from a lot of roster standpoints at this time but I just don’t see it happening. Even when Toronto was a competive team in the early 2000’s they had trouble keeping star players. It would certainly be a surprise to see them sign a free agent of Durant’s magnitude.

I mean how much is Drake really in Toronto during the year anyway…it seems like he is all over the place.

Drake is arguably the hardest working man in the entertainment industry. I have so much respect for him. I only like a few of his songs but I defenitely look up to him as an example of how to treat your career. Like you said the guy is everywhere yet he always finds a way to bring something back to the city. He really does run Toronto.

Anyways about KD and Toronto I think I’ve said this in the forum before. This is like a college player putting his hometown school or parents school on his shortlist and displaying it to the media for publicity purposes. Like Andrew Wiggins and Florida State even though he ended up at Kansas. He will likely do an interview with Masai Ujiri to show Toronto the same love the city showed him. He will likely do the same with Washington.

Although I must say as the irrationality side of me is still convinced we have a shot…Durant has mentioned Toronto as somewhere he loves to be and an organization he likes plenty of times.

All-star weekend will be the silent sales pitch.
