TarHeelRavenParticipantHe’s the Wooden Award winner right now and it shouldn’t even be close. He had 32 and 7 at LSU today in a come from behind win and was 8-15 from 3. In the one and done era it’s nice to see a senior dominating college ball. It’s rare to see a guy make such a huge jump fom his junior to senior year. We might not see a senior put up these kind of numbers again for a while. Love watching this guy play.

ChewyParticipantWhen ESPN put up side by side shots of Buddy showing how he shot as a freshman and how he shoots as a senior. You can tell he had to put in a ton of work to move his release from the left side of his head to his right and become consistent enough to do what he is doing right now.

Memphis MadnessParticipantTonight’s game against LSU reminded me of when Kevin Durant went off against Oklahoma State. Shades of Steph Curry too.
Ok, yeah, he’s my pick for the alternate spot on Team Rio. 12th man goes to DeMarcus Cousins. Gotta have Boogie in Rio!

TRC1991ParticipantBuddy is nasty. I think he can be a 16 ppg scorer as a rookie starter on a team

SubZeroParticipantHe’s my favorite player in the country by far. Even though I’m a UK fan and loved Jodie Meeks when he was here (because he and P-Patt made the Gillespie years not as awful as they could’ve been), I like OU too and I hate that some people are comparing Hield to him. I can see Hield being a less on-ball, more off-ball, smarter and slightly bigger Monta Ellis. I wish there was some way OKC could get him, cause he’d be perfect to play the end of games with Russ and KD instead of Dion

BiggysmallsParticipantI love college basketball this year. No real front-runner type team like last year and a lot of the best teams are upperclassmen driven.
I enjoy watching guys who just know how to play (yeah its a bit cliche) rather than a bunch of freshman who just out-athletic people.
Buddy is awesome. Great ambassador for college basketball this year and I think he’ll be a good NBAer. Not as good as some on this site, but I think he’ll be like a JJ Redick-lite elite role player.

phila9012ParticipantI think he could be better. He could be like CJ McCollum. He has the potential to get 20ppg in the NBA and be a second option, like McCollum.

trappedintheclosetI think McCollum had a little more explosiveness and shake to his game.
I think Hield is one of those great college players whose game doesn’t quit translate. If he was 6’6 instead of 6’4 I would probably think differently, or if he had a little more explosiveness.
But he doesn’t.
Probably a solid bench scorer for an uptempo team who will only makes a + impact when his shot is on.

EspressoParticipantYup, i think the same as trapped in the closet.
I see an Aaron Afflalo type. Limited potential.
CJMccollum was shaking and baking everyone, he was lethal from mid range pull ups, going in, and from downtown. A good way to put it is he had more "shake" to his game, he definitely did.

reinie13_phxParticipantWhere the ideal spot for Buddy to go in the draft in your opinion. I’d love to see him go to the Pelicans? Pair him with Anthony Davis and they have that second scorer they’ve been needing.m

BiggysmallsParticipantYeah that’d be a good spot. They need shooting. Probably in a good spot in the lottery to take him. Top 5 seems too high but anywhere around 6-10 I think would be a sweet spot for him.
Still don’t see a 2nd option caliber player in him. That’s asking him to do a lot, which might take away from his best skills which are shooting and off-ball play.
