The Celtics are dangerous with a minimal amount of talent, but still winning due to top tier coaching and great role players stepping up different nights. They are stocked with assets and are destined to make a big move at any time. The trade deadline is coming up and I’d like to see what people think they’re going to do. Let me know what you think.

I don’t see any real big names being moved at the deadline. Jeff Teague going to the Knicks is probably the biggest move that will be made. Kevin Love is staying in Cleveland and if Sacramento wasn’t trading Boogie before I don’t think they can do it now.

The Celtics appear set in the backcourt with Thomas, Smart and Bradley. Crowder and Turner are solid on the wing but they likely could use an interior upgrade. If Atlanta is willing to move Teague maybe they will get rid of one of their other big guys in Horford or Milsap. Aside from that happening Boston will have to settle for going after Terrence Jones or Ryan Anderson maybe…but neither of those guys are going to make you a contending team or are even really worth a first round pick.

Unless a star is available the most likely move at the deadline is to make a 2 for 1 trade to free up some of the logjam with the bigs.  If that doesn’t happen, after the deadline Boston can buyout David Lee to free up a roster spot.  I’d rather do a small move like one of the two above instead of making a trade that makes us slightly better.  For example if Boston doesn’t do anything drastic at the deadline we can add a top 5 pick and then go after a Horford in free agency instead of giving up assets to get him now.
