Good win over Greenless Warriors today. They are only a couple of games outside of the 8th playoff spot.

Wilson Chandler and Gallinari (40% fg) are overpaid and miss games but they have some quite nice pieces. Gary Harris is starting to play well lately, Will Barton, Nurkic, Jokic, Muiday.

They do potentially have 3 first round picks this year….

Nuggets seemingly every year have too many good players for too few roster spots / minutes, but they lack that one superstar who might take them over the hump. They have talent down low, scorers on the wing and good young guards who have room to grow. However, who will become their star player? They’re in a difficult position, also draft-wise as I don’t see any clear need for them at the moment other than aiming for the stars.

I think Gallinari is the kind of player who could be the missing piece for a contender.

I rate his game and think he has his best years ahead of him.

The Nuggets are my 2nd favorite team in the west outside of the Lakers.. I think they will be very good in the coming years.. The front office is very good.

The Nuggets under George Karl were a regular play off team but never really progressed. After Melo was traded I thought they might struggle but they proved to still be a strong team.

Post George Karl and with Gallinari injured they struggled last year in particular and seem to have been hit by injuries again this year. They do perhaps lack that star player but they have proved before that with a good team ethic they can be a solid play off team. But if they could become a legit contender would be a doubt.

They have a young team with decent upside and with a possible 3 first round picks this year, they will have lots of draft options. I think we have to wait and see what their Front Office does in the draft then we can access where they are.

I’d be prepared to give this line up further time to develop and see what the upcoming draft brings them.

Their owners the Kroenke family own a lot of sports teams including Arsenal F.C and LA Rams and seem to be the sort of owners who whilst they will not spend mega money, seem content with reasonable success so they may well be prepared to leave Denver ticking over as it is given the new TV money coming into the NBA. They are having to pay a lot of money to relocate the Rams and Arsenal will be turning a big profit when the Premier League’s huge new TV deal kicks in next season.

They have a lot of bigmens, there will be a lot of bigs in the top 10, their biggest draft target has to be Murray for a 3 headed backcourt.

I genuinely doubt Denver gets most of the "extra" picks theyre owed, at least not this year. Really there is just no way Denver ever gets that Portland first rounder. Its lottery protected in 2016 and 2017 and then turns into two seconds and they probably wont the Grizzlies first this year because it’s protected 1-5 and 15-30. The only pick I’m confident they’ll get is Houstons and even thats contingent on them (Rockets) making the playoffs in a crazy western conference.

If there is one player who I think will get traded its Gallo. He is a very valuable piece and a team like Boston could really use what he brings to the table (above average 3pt shooting with the ability to get hot easily and vastly underrated perimeter defense). And as valuable as Gallo is, Will Barton is proving he can do the same stuff, if not even more effeiencently.

This is a trade I can really see happening in Feb.

    Boston Receives:

    Danilo Gallinari

    Denver Receives:

David Lee & Dallas’ 1st round pick.
