It seems like DeAndre Ayton is offically back to his norman self, given how he struggled last season due to injury and poor perfromance.I don’t see anything to dislike about this kid and I don’t really see a weakness in his game. He’s about 7’1" (going off of a picture next to Dwight Howard) 240IBS, have great shooting mechanics, have range to the 3 point line, really athletic, shot blocker, mobile, and can post people up. To he’s and the best big man prospect coming out of high school since Anthony Davis, and is comparable to Joel Embiid or Karl-Anthony Towns.

I know some may not like him as a player on this site due to his perfomance last year, but this is litterally his 4th year playing basketball and he have a game/skill set that you would believe that he have played his entire life and had NBA coaching. He’s a perfect fit for the "new" NBA. I believe he will go and be the ideal fit in Kansas due to the fact that they play off their bigs, unlike Kentucky and some extent Duke.

Top 10 prospects in high school (Not going off of right now or who’s producing more now)

    1. Marvin Bagley (I forgot about him for a second when I was making this)
    2. DeAndre Ayton
    3. Harry Giles
    4. Josh Jackson
    5. Trevon Duval
    6. Malik Monk
    7. Jayson Tatum
    8. De’Aaron Fox
    9. Wendell Carter
    10. Mo Bamba (Remember him, can challenge for number one)

Honorable Mention: Markelle Fultz, Dennis Smith, Michael Porter, and Lonzo Ball

    Thoughts…….

Mohammad Bamba’s a higher upside prospect than DeAndre Ayton IMO…

He’s not as safe in a traditional sense, because Ayton’s measurements/athletecism and activity level are all off the charts(David Robinson-esque) for a player agile enough to play PF at 7′..

(FWIW – I don’t have any problem with Ayton being ranked #1)

Bamba has ‘it’ though…You’ll see, he’s the real deal(too).. He’s got a much better head on his shoulders..  He’s just scratching the surface, He’s rapidly improving and will continue growing his game for many years to come..

    I’ve got the top-10

    Bagley III
    Bamba
    Ayton
    Giles
    Fox
    Jackson
    Vanderbilt
    Duval
    Bassey
    Monk

    Hon mention;

Wendell Carter Jr, Lonzo Ball, Cole Anthony, Silvio De Souza, Scottie Lewis, R.J. Barrett, Chol Marial, Cassius Stanley, Wenyen Gabriel, Jayson Tatum, Jonathan Isaac, Robert Woodard II,  Bol Bol, Cameron Reddish, Antwann Jones, Michael Porter Jr, Hamidou Diallo, Billy Preston, John Petty, Gary Trent Jr, Bam Adebayo, Markelle Fultz, Dennis Smith Jr,, Andrew Jones, Kris Wilkes, Trae Young, Troy Brown, Javonte Smart, Jalen Smith, Simisola Shittu, Jadeon Ledee, Darius Garland, Wendell Moore Jr,,  Nicholas Richards, E.J. Montgomery, Miles Bridges, Jordan Brown, Elijah Weaver, Chandler Lawson, Immanuel Quickley, Trendon Watford, Francis Okoroh, D.J. Burns, Jared Jones and Isaiah Mobley. (to name a few)

I don’t see Bamba overtaking Ayton as far as being a BIGMAN prospect. Bamba is a good prospect, but he seems destined to be one of those dreaded "do it all" types. Hopefully someone like Calipari will get him and develop his strengths as it relates to his physical advantages (which is Coach Cal’s speciality). Bagley is just unreal for the stage of development he’s at. I just hope he has the drive to be the best he can be, which is a rare trait…

If I had to bet on anyone in the 2017 class overtaking Ayton it would be Mohamed Bamba. Kid has unreal length with his 7’8 wingspan and 9’5 standing reach. He is athletic, mobile and agile.  He is one of those "do it all"types. But who says that is a bad thing. Defensively he can do things that no one in the country in high school can do due to his physical gifts. Also his work ethic has been noted as being very good and he is an intelligent kid which means something to me. This is a kid that is a top 5 prospect but is also considering Ivy League schools. You rarely see that.  It will be interesting down the stretch with Ayton,Bamba and Carter in that 2017 class.

    1. Marvin Bagley.

    4. Jayson Tatum.
    5. Michael Porter.
    6. Mohamed Bamba.
    7. De’Aaron Fox.
    8. Malik Monk.
Not as big on Giles as other people. Think he’ll be solid but not a superstar. I think people are seriously underestimating Jayson Tatum. Great prospect in his own right.
Like Charles Bassey but thats just from what I read.
Like Trevon Duval but I think Lonzo Ball, Markelle Fultz, and Dennis smith are much better NBA prospect the way the NBA is going.
Jarred Vanderbilt can do everything on the floor, really a big fan.
Like Rawle Alkins to, think he is a one and done guy.

I really hope Dennis Smith comes back to his full athleticism off his acl injury.. dude has all the makings of an elite point guard

And on the topic of Michael Porter, all the film I can find of him looks like he is playing in a bad JV league. Hes always the tallest guy on the court by 4 inches and no one else even looks like much of an athlete. I can’t make any judgements on how good he will be till I see him play some similiarly talented prospects. Anybody have any film of him playing AAU or something?

I thought I was the only one who is a bit skeptical of Porter! I could be wrong and he could be a future All-NBA player, but something about his game/skills seems a little off to me…Also, could people on here stop comparing Lonzo Ball to J Kidd? Really. Not even close. One last thing- Kobi Simmons is greatly underrated on this site. He’s a purer point guard than at least a couple of the "PGs" ranked ahead of him.

Deandre Ayton is the best player regardless of  class in my opinion Marvin Bagley’s game in the pros reminds me of Chris Webber meanwhile Deandre  reminds me of David Robinson, Mohammed Bamba has the potential to be Hassan Whiteside
