UncledrewParticipantThis would be my starters:
Curry Westbrook Lebron Kd Ad
Other locks:
Paul George
Kawhi leonard
James Harden
Blake Griffin
The last big man spot should be between Drummond and Cousins and point guard will again have the biggest snubs with Wall, lillard, CP3, Irving and lowry all deserving.
Last 3 in:
Drummond
CP3
Irving

Hype MachineMight see a Kawhi Leanard vs Ben Simmons matchup before he even enters the league.
Kid probably gets murdered….but who knows!

Hype MachineWhy not use a Platoon system with the GSW death lineup all playing together.
Already proven to be unbeatable. I don’t even think a makeshift team of All Stars could beat them without adequete time to gel.

Memphis MadnessParticipantThis is the obligatory Olympic Team thread of the week.
I have only a couple of guys who so who aren’t locks.
Starters:
G Steph Curry
G Russell Westbrook
F Durant
F LeBron
PF Anthony Davis
Bench
PG Chris Paul (this is one of the few open spots. CP3 gets it because Irving has been hurt this year, and CP3 needs fewer minutes).
SG James Harden
SF Kawhi Leonard (he is basicall a lock at this point. 2 way star. can play the 4 in International ball)
SF Paul George (having a really good year. Supposedly has a promise from Coach K, too. I bet he even sees time at the 2).
C Andre Drummond: rebounds, rebounds, and rebounds. Can dunk. Can’t hit free throws but lacks the baggage of Cousins or Whiteside. This guy is a pretty much a lock if he keeps things up. The team needs at least ONE legit Center and this is the guy.
Reserves:
Draymond Green: my last lock. I think he does so much and can play either big man spot for the Olympic team. Doesn’t need to score to be effective and there are PLENTY of scorers on this roster.
Blake Griffin: Arguably the best big man in the game this year. Can run and dunk, but he can ALSO pass. CP3’s running buddy. This team has more depth at point guard and on the wing, so they could use another solid big man.
Alternate: Either Klay Thompson or Jimmy Butler. Harden is the only true shooting guard on this team. Klay and Butler are ALSO the top two finalists for this roster with Kyle Lowry, Kyrie Irving, and John Wall being some other finalists. Blake gets in over Kevin Love for having a better season and being more of an athlete.
CP3 is the only guy on this roster who isn’t a lock. I think it comes down to, if the team wants a 3rd point guard or a 2nd shooting guard (Klay or Jimmy Butler). I think they could with another point guard, since Russ can play the 2. What they could also do is give the last spot to Klay or Butler then make CP3 the alternate.

canadabasketballisrisingParticipantI’m wondering who everyone else thinks the second big off the bench will be (i think Griffin should be the first),
will it be: Cousins (offense), Whiteside (shot blocking), Jordan (blocking/ rebounding) or Drummond (rebounding)??
I think only 1 of these 4 will be chosen..

canadabasketballisrisingParticipantI tend to think whiteside, then drummnd actually.. will be interesting to see who is chosen, even though Cousins is clearly the best player of the 4…

bmac697ParticipantCurry Westbrook Durant James Davis
Irving Harden Lenaord George Cousins
Butler Green
The first five would be my locks and the rest would be my choices. Its hard to leave Paul and Anthony off this team just because they have a history over the last two olympics but there are better younger players who need to take over and get that international exeperience.
Im Canadian so im hoping we fair well if we can qualify, but I dont believe any team or country in the world can touch the 2016 RIO Olympic team, there just too stacked.

canadabasketballisrisingParticipantThe only player I’m surprised you left off is B. Griffin. I think he is a perfect fit for the 3rd big, easily quick enough to matchup and play bigs who stay on the permiter and can shoot from the outside, but still big enough to guard in the post. Tho i guess this can be Davis a bit too, I’d rather take Griffin.
I agree with melo and paul.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantThis is just my opinion but I would kind of like to see the guys like James, Carmelo, and Paul who have already played in several Olympics step aside to give the younger guys a chance. They would probably be better off getting the extra rest anyway.
I wouldn’t be completely shocked if Kobe somehow ends up on the team if he’s healthy enough and wants to play. Not that I would be in favor of it, but it would certainly draw ratings and create more of a buzz so it wouldn’t surprise me.
