mgreener_34ParticipantSo with the trade season starting up, and rumors that Lawson is on the outs in HOU after a failed 1/4 of the season, what team could use him? Even better question, what team would even want him?
He’s having a terrible year, but he still is only 28 years old, and put up around 15/10 last year. I think he could still help a team.
I think the Jazz would be a good fit because they desperately need a starting PG, but he doesn’t fit with what they’re doing, or have the character that the Jazz fo usually looks for.
The only other teams that really need a starting PG are Philly, New York, or New Orleans. I don’t think any of those teams really want him either. PHI probably doesn’t want the cap space, NO just got Jrue back and have Reke owning the ball, and NY probably doesn’t have the pieces to get it done.
So what happens to Lawson? Does he get relegated to just a bench player on an okay team like the Pacers or Bulls? Or does one of the other teams take a gamble on him?

mgreener_34ParticipantIt’s funny that you mention the Clips and Bucks because those are the two teams I was looking at as well, but thought second about it.
The Clippers could use him, but with CP3 playing 30+ minutes a game, and Austin/Crafrord getting minutes as well, I don’t think paying Ty 12 mil to do what he’s doing in HOU is going to be enough. Stevenson also can play some 3, something the Clippers really need.
The Bucks are another team I was looking at, but couldn’t see how he would fit. They are one of the sloweest teams in the league, but Lawson is a pg that thrives in an uptempo style of play. I think it would def. be worth a shot for the Bucks, but to be honest, at this point I rahter take the defensive versatility of MCW over Lawsons offensive potency.

ScarTissue98Participantbut when I read your post I thought – Great Idea! …… I know MCW has had some good games recently, but it seems like the Bucks might be leaning in a different direction & Lawson is still young enough at 28 to be a great fit on that team……
W/ Parker, Monroe & Antetokounmpo – Milwaukee has 3 solid scorers….. I realize that physically Lawson is the polar opposite of MCW b/c he lacks size & length….. But he’s lightning quick, very efficient & has good leadership skills on the court…..
He would be a Massive upgrade in Phila, but I just can’t see the Sixers taking on his salary……
What do other people think?

holefillers1ParticipantNot the kind of veteran leadership the Sixers need. I think any team looking to make a push, who needs a second gaurd or bench scoring.
