r377ParticipantI know he is not playing to well, but he did used to be really good for Indiana. I think a few ppl have forgotten just how good he was.
He averaged 14-7-5 on 49% fg. 35% 3’s on a contending team. With Paul George getting injured last season, Lance would of been the no 1 option and could of put up a realistic 18-7-6 stats….
Now, he is struggling with his new team to fit in and no other teams will even go near him for a trade. Just goes to show how playing in the right system, for the right team can make or break your career. Just ask Kawhi Leonard, Harrison Barnes and Jimmer Fredette that one……

Meditated StatesParticipantWhy this unflinching faith in a non shooting, stuggle to finish around the rim player is beyond me. He is a bench player at best. His personality and attitude sucks. He sucks as a teamate. Its over for Mr. Stevenson. He is nothing special.

ropeParticipantHe only had one good year and cashed in on it. This happens a lot, though. Mid tier guys leaves for big $$, but falls of a cliff or can’t find a role. You have to wonder how he would be doing as a Pacer. It’s not my life, but I always have a little reservation with a guy switching teams. (Baseball, even more so) Unless they are a star, this is what often happens. He screwed up his career, it would appear, even if he got the one-time windfall.

PulseGlazerParticipantAfter this contract, here’s either getting a minimum deal or greased to Europe/China.

Hype MachineId be surprised if a team with cap space didnt absorb the last year of his contract for a 1st rounder.
Clippers would love to spend that money elsewhere.
Any rebuilding team will have boatloads of cap space once it rises again…altho the pick will be late 1st round at best.

tblazer_NZParticipantThey have a team option which they will use to dump him, not giving up a first to do that.

SpaceghostParticipantDoes anybody notice that alot of New York City guards fizzle out as soon as they make it big? Kenny Anderson, Sebastion Telfair, Starbury and now Born Ready.. ALL good talents players but something in the head is just not wired right. Lance in IMO is a good player but his attitude just wont allow him to just fit in. HE wants to be the man..At what point does a man humble himself ? He has the physical gifts to be a good bench play maker, scorer not shooter, defensive standout..Why is that not good enough for him?

ThepessimestParticipant….of what you are saying I wouldn’t put Kenny Anderson or Marbury in the same sentence with Telfair and Stephenson. Not even close to the same thing.
Kenny Anderson was really really good and played 18 seasons or so. Stephon Marbury was sick…averaging 20 and 9 for like his first 8-10 years in the league.
Telfair is a never was and Stephenson in Indiana was a joke who’s deficiencies were masked by a really good culture built up around him.
I get what you are saying with the mental aspect missing and all that but I simply would not put the 2 guys who were never was beens in with 2 guys who were all star level talents who at some point were top players at their position.
Kenny Anderson and Derrick Coleman were a special combination.
Marbury in Minnesota, Jersey, and Phoenix was something to see.
Telfair been passed around the league and gone. If Telfair was from Arizona he’d never have been drafted out of high school.
He was a guard who couldn’t shoot great, wasn’t big, wasn’t super athletic. He had a nice handle, related to a NBA guard, and was from NY. That’s why he got drafted. Should have gone to college.
Stephenson can’t shoot, over dribbles, is a head case, and doesn’t know his limitations which makes his limitations worse.

OaktownWarriorsParticipantFirst off, homeboy’s nickname "Born Ready" was a joke. Even back in NYC during his high school days. Really looking at his career…Stephenson has maybe 2.5 above average seasons. And for many players, they can’t hold that level. After his breif career at Cincy, I was shocked that he got drafted (reallly). He has never been able to shoot the ball, mid-range, 3pt! Sure like any player in the league, he has his moments. He requries to handle the ball too much. Before being "Born Ready", homeboy needs to be born to all around basketball!!!

surveParticipantby how he made this cover and there were a few players in between him and Wall as far as talent. I mean he was good but I expected Avery Bradley. I felt he was being overhyped a bit.

ropeParticipantIt’s things like that cover that killed him. It went to his head and he can’t get that he could be a great role player, but isn’t going to be a star. Of course, he has the big bank roll (for the moment), minutes or not.

DolanCareParticipantWhile Lance has been a massive disappointment it is soooo stupid how little play Doc is giving him in Los Angeles. With a team in desperate need of a wing with playmaking skills it’s unexcusable to give up on Lance this early in the season.
