UncledrewParticipant5. Russell Westbrook 26 ppg 10 apg 7 rpg
Most aggressive player I’m the gym at all times. Arguably the most physically gifted/ athletic point guard in the history of the nba. Willingness to make teammates better (10 apg) should have killed the "he’s not a point guard" chatter. Could look set kd up once or twice more per game but who’s counting. Doesn’t take away fact that he’s one of the most dominating forces in the game. Intensity and fearlessness rivaled by no one.
4. Paul "pg-13"George 28 ppg 8 rpg 4apg (45/45/84)
Paul George is back and better than he’s ever been. Unfortunately for nba defenses george is being guarded by power forwards this year which has been a mismatch nightmare. 4’s are to slow to guard him and he’s shooting over guards that get switched on to him. Also sporting a improved handle (ask Bradley Beal) he’s been able to get where ever he wants on the court. At times I wish he wouldn’t settle for so many jumpshots but for as hot as he’s been I can’t blame him. He’s forcing Indiana into a Top 3 record in the east and is behind only Curry in MVP race.
3. Lebron"King" James 26 ppg 8 rpg 6 apg
At this point Lebron has nothing left to prove…but he continues to prove doubters wrong. In his 13th season he’s still putting up mvp numbers with a injury plagued cavs team that also isn’t playing well. At 31 Lebron athleticism has took a dip but he’s still one of the top 3 most feared players on the planet. I watched him score 23 in the 4th vs the pelicans which looked like a calculated massacre. When the guards come back the game will open up so much more for him which is scary.
2. Kevin Durant 28 ppg 8 rpg 4 apg 1.4 blks (53/46/89)
KD is the best off ball player in the NBA today. He’s missed a few games to be extra cautious but when hes played hes been great. He can play both spots in pick and roll, score in the post and pull up from 30 feet. Last year people hopped on the westbrook wagon and no discredit to him he was great in his own right but Durant is the best player on the Thunder. His size at 6’10 along with his shot, mobility, and handle make him the prototype wing. His efficiency is what separates him. The Durantula will be a mismatch for years to come.
1. Stephen"Chef" Curry 32 ppg 6 apg 5 rpg 2 spg (53/46/90)
Curry is the best player in the Association. He’s the most dangerous player on the court at all times. When the double teams come he can disect the defenses with his passing. He’s using his basketball Iq, quick hands to disrupt ball handlers becoming a plus defender to go with his unearthly offense. He also gets a fair share of rebounds for a 6’3 guard and is the catalyst for the best offensive and defensive team in the league. With a 23-0 record to start the season he’s easily the front runner for mvp and his team is looking like repeat champions. At 27 yeaes old with his tight handle and in the gym range don’t expect him to lose the top spot any time soon.

PulseGlazerParticipantSeems about right even if I don’t have them in quite that order. Kawhi or Blake would be 6 to me.

IndianaBasketballParticipantJust about everybody had Anthony Davis as a top five player before the season (as high as #2), so it’s interesting to see a top five list without him on it.

trelos6ParticipantIn the off season, Davis was a top 2 player.
However, we expected him to take another leap.
The guy averages 24/11/3 blk, just that his team is a bit average with all the injuries early.
I think he is settling for more jumpers this season, and at least he is 35% from 3.
If he can attack the paint more, he can get his FG% up and also draw more fouls.
I can see him get to 28/13/3, with .500/.370/.800

UncledrewParticipantI wanted to put kawhi at 5 but as good as he’s playing there was no one he could replace but hes right there at 6. AD is tough to leave out but he hasn’t started out blazing like everyone thought although his pelicans haven’t helped his cause either but both these guys are in my next tier followed by blake and harden.

festar35ParticipantI read a lot about how PG is doing at PF and all it tells me is people are not watching him play. He is playing SF, he is guarding wing players and being guarded by them in return. He is playing very little PF, the only time I he plays there is when G.Hill, Ellis, Stuckey and Mahinmi have been on the floor with him which has happened like twice for minimal minutes.
So as stated above he is not being guarded by Power Forwards, he is playing SF. CJ Miles has been the PF all year for Indiana and that IMO is why his numbers are up.

IndianaBasketballParticipantYep, you’re 100% right. PG is NOT playing much power forward at all. It’s CJ Miles and Lavoy Allen playing 98% of those minutes.

UncledrewParticipantThe scrutiny is rediculous festar35…Indiana plays 4 out 1 in…hill Ellis cj and george are all perimeter players. Throughout the course of the game just about all perimeter players guard each other interchangeably but in the stat book at the end of the day Paul’s position is power forward. Whether a big or a wing is on Paul it doesn’t matter either way he’s torching whoever so make a better point.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI thumbs up’d you both lol.
Offensively, the Pacers do play 4 out 1 in, but Miles is the one setting more screens in P&P and being defended by 4 men. And defensively, Miles is defending the 4 man too.
Miles defended more on the perimeter last night vs the Warriors, but that was because the Pacers tried to switch on picks (something they don’t normally do).
At the end of the day, it’s just like Uncledrew posted though… PG is torching whoever defends him.

Hype MachineDespite his abrasive tone, greekballer is right.
1) Curry
2) Lebron
3) KD
4) Leonard
5) Westbrook

Hype MachineId say hes under rated.
Nba.com has him #2 on their MVP standings. Their opinion, not necessarily mine.
Undeniably the best defender in the league.

GreekballinLeonard has no reason being there at all.. Looked how awful he was tonight against the raps.. Caroll wasn’t even playing.. He was prolly injured though he didn’t look right..
The order for THIS YEAR only is :
1- Curry
2- Lebron
3-Paul George
4-Durant
5- Westbrook
OKC has a shitty record and doesn’t look like a contender right now.. Cavs look better, Lebron played better than Durant has, and they don’t have their starting backcourt, nuff said, OP, you are just turrible like Chuck would say

NBAjunkie81Participantnow? B/c if it’s right now – of course Lebron is still #1 or at least 1A w/ Curry for that Top spot…..
But if I was starting a team I’d have Curry (27), Durant (27), Unibrow Davis (22), Paul George (25), Westbrook (27), Blake Griffin (26), Kawhi Leonard (24), Harden (26), Kyrie Irving (23) Lillard (25)……
Lebron will be 31 on Dec 30, 2015…. He is still Great & it looks like Lebron’s 30’s will look moire like Jordan’s than Magic, Bird, Isaiah or Kobe’s….
Just to give a reference point for Lebron – when Jordan was 30 going on 31 it was the 1993/94′ season…. This is the year Jordan left basketball….. So Jordan had 3 Finals appearances, 3 Rings & 3 Finals MVP’s…..
Lebron is healthy, I think if he stayed in Miami his body would have broken down much sooner b/c Wade’s health was poor & b/c of their salaries they just could not bring in much help…. Imagine if Lebron stayed in Miami for even One more year – Chris Bosh’ Lung blood clot last season & subsequent absence may have completely broken down Lebron’s body….
So I believe he is well positioned in Cleveland w/ K. Love (27), Kyrie Irving (23) & Trsitan Thompson (24) to save his body for the playoffs & make a few more Finals….
It’s a great topic for discussion…. We’ll see….

lalailaParticipantCurry is unreal so far. but after 36ppg 13rpg 9apg Finals from James I would say never bet against the king. And this year he looks healthier so get ready for another amazing playoff run, I feel he doesnt care about reg season stats anymore
until Steph does what he is doing now in the Playoffs (be honest, he wasn’t that great in the finals wasnt even MVP) and wins against healthy cavs I will still save that crown for LeBron
mine top5:
1. LeBron James
2. Steph Curry
3.Kevin Durant
4. Russell Westbrook
5. Paul George

Memphis MadnessParticipantPG is a better first option guy. Kawhi can score too, but the Spurs are a GROUP effort.
So, another way of putting it is this: the five best go-to guys in the league (right now) are Steph, LeBron, Russ, Durant, and Paul George (in some order).
Kawhi Leonard, Drummond, Harden, Draymond, Blake, AD, and some others are really, really good too but not quite top 5 material.
The All NBA First Team would have to choose only two of these 3: LeBron, PG, and Durant. I would think that at this point, Andre Drummond is the leading contender for the All NBA First Team center spot.
