Yeah, he started so young it feels like he’s been around forever, but he’s just entering his prime, and finding his basketball destiny as a point forward.

He had a down year last year but in the two previous seasons he had similar rebounds and assists. The biggest thing is that he is getting to the line about twice as much as last year and taking more shot than previously.

He really isn’t doing any more than he has shown in the past.

I was looking at his advanced stats and the biggest thing that stood out was that until his last year with Portland throughout his career about 95% of his 3pt shots were assisted. But last year with Portland only 77% of his 3-pt shots were assisted. That’s quite the change in just a year. His 3-pt percentage also dropped of om about a career 37.5% to a season 32% I’m guessing partly responsible to that change.

This year he has adapted well though. 80% ofhis 3-pt shots are assisted while shooting about 40% with a career high 3’s made so his game is definitely growing from just a 3 and D spot up shooter. Portland may have been wise to keep him and build around Batum and Lilliard as they didn’t receive much in return for Batum and Lilliard and McCollum are too good to allow Portland to do a proper rebuild. But the Trailblazers organization always seems to find a way back to a relative status no matter what circumstances they are facing.

He shot so terrible due to an injury that never got the chance to heal as he didn’t take much time off. It was his shooting hand too I believe.
