gopack10ParticipantFor all of Coach Dud’s moves that have worked out, the trade for Tim Hardaway Jr. has got to be the biggest bust to this point.

I wonder if it is just trouble with the system or if he’s just not that good.

Arc12345ParticipantI’m officially pissed. We gave up the 15th pick in the draft, where they took Oubre and could’ve taken Portis (or could’ve traded up to get Booker who I really like), and traded it away for Tim Hardaway Jr to NOT EVEN PLAY HIM.
I said right when this happened I didn’t like it. I said Hardaway Jr. was not the answer. Solid player, but worth trading a borderline lottery pick??? It made no sense. This is absurd. Can someone even remotely justify this?
The Hawks have some of the most mediocre offensive talent in the league at their wing spots besides Korver. It’s laughable.
After a great season last year, it’s clear coach bud still has a lot to learn.

gopack10ParticipantI don’t know that I’m as upset as you are but I would agree with most of your points. I wasn’t that upset at first because I figured he would be a contributor for this team as I didn’t think that DMC was coming back. I liked the depth idea of having him on the roster but I would much rather be developing a guy like Portis or Oubre, to your point.
The whole thing just doesn’t make much sense to me. Maybe he’s just in Coach Bud’s dog house for some reason other than basketball. He doesn’t seem like he’s got an attitude issue on the sidelines but I’m not in the locker room on a day to day basis so I don’t know.

GBeeParticipantThe Hawks are clearly lacking in the "eye for young talent" department. First blowing a pick on A.Payne, then acquiring THJ in the next draft. It’s strange that a guy like Bud could be immersed in the Spurs’ culture for so long, seeing the types of players that they had drafted and acquired over the years, then go out and draft/acquire those boneheads. He might be the DOBO, but maybe he should leave the drafting and acquisition of young talent to someone else. Payne was an absolute dunce with goofy coordination and THJ was a low IQ chucker, with zero floor game who sucked defensively. D-League is probably the more fitting environment for him… and Payne FTM. At least they erased the Payne mistake.

MatosParticipantIts just not the right system for him thats all. That team isn’t a great fit. Having to play alongside a great shooter like Korver limits the other wing to mostly having to make an impact on the defensive end, which is not his strong suit.

tuck243ParticipantWhen it came to drafting… Most of the time they get it wrong… They drafted a SF in 3 straight drafts. Even with Chris Paul and Deron Williams there.
Tim Hardaway isn’t that good. I keep telling people this and they don’t listen. His defense is horrid and he’s an average athlete. He’s more opportunity than actual substance. All he did was hit 3’s for the Knicks his rookie season. That’s it… That was their only shining moment all year. So, EVERYONE was happy about THJ…. Next year was a down year because of the new system, so people gave him a pass again. But dude isn’t that good. It’s time to admit it…
