I can’t understand why Sabonis is higher on the draft boards? I haven’t watched them both play but statistically Poeltl looks better. If anyone can give some insight it would be much appreciated.

Dude, dont take everything the media writes as the gold standard.. most of these guys just post opinions of scouts and gms anyhow and dont really have much of an educated opinion on a prospect.. example Skal

I agree with you I actually like Poeltl but I also really like Stephen Zimmerman, If Zimmerman measures a legit 7 feet.. he has potential to be very very good in the league

I don’t see why Skal has all of a sudden received so much doubt in his projected value/stock. Calipari is doing with him what he has done with all of his bigs in the past and that’s play him strictly in the post to provide him the fundamentals to be a solid big man in the league. He hasn’t quite disappointed. He projects to be a stretch big on the offensive end while being a help side defender on the defensive end. Right now there is only two players averaging 1.5 3-pointers and 1.5 bpg and that’s Demarcus Cousins and Kevin Durant (4 players if you add Draymond Green and Kahwi Leonard who have 1.3 and 1.4 bpg). Skal fully developed seems like he will be able to join that club.

Lol at Calipari providing him with fundamentals, it must be the same fundamentals he provided to the Harrison Twins and Alex Poythress who literally looks like the same player since his freshmen year.. Sorry, Skal is overrated plain and simple.. Hes skilled no doubt, but lacks the strength and grit to really be a legit player at the next level..

so if he is 6’11" he is going to be terrible? How many centers in the league are truly over 7 ft? That’s no longer a requirement to play Center in the league. SMH

Sabonis has one skill that is almost guaranteed to be successful in the league, if you watched him he has that Kevin Love type of nose for the ball..

so with floor is still around double double guy, but he has underrated quickness and iq for the game too
