BYU’s Kyle Collinsworth has broken the NCAA record for most career triple doubles.

    He has now recorded 7!

Magic has unofficially got 8 though, it’s just that assists were not kept as an official stat until 1983.

Still, I’d imagine Collinsworth to end up around 10.

How is he not a lottery projection? 6-6, athletic, skilled, how can Caris Levert be ranked higher than him? SMH

Because Caris LeVert is way younger and a far better shooter, scorer, and defender and does it against better competition?

The guy will be 25 by the start of next season, he’s a man among boys. He often plays against guys who are 4 and 5 years younger than him. His stats are empty.

Numbers don’t mean much at the college level. Look at jimmer. Another BYU great that averaged nearly 30 a game his final season but is in the D league

Numbers mean a lot in college, you just need to understeate how they relate. Triple Dubs are exteremely rare in college. The pace, spacing and clock don’t allow for triple doubles so his are very impressive.

I am big on the Kyle Collinsworth train.  I think he can be a great backup in the NBA.  He has much better size, athleticism and is a MUCH better defender than Jimmer.  I think there is a place for him similar to the Delly role.

He’s definitely an NBA player. But his projection of being a mid-late first rounder is appropriate. If you’re someone who needs the ball to be effective you better be an elite player. Not good, elite. Collinsworth doesn’t have the athleticism or jump shot to be trusted with being a starter who initiates the offense.

But he’d excel at that role off the bench. He reminds me of Draymond Green-Lite.

wow!this kid will be 25 when the season starts next yr. tj mcconnell’s success might help his chances.he’s tough, isnt afraid of contact, has a great feel for the game and a great passer..he might not get drafted, but he’s going to open alot of coaches eyes in workouts and sl and get an invite to someone’s camp..

I wonder that too, they are both Mormons so look out for that. Also the Jazz will look to pick him up to appease the huge Mormon population in Utah.

By your logic both the Celtics and Jazz would be fighting to sign Jimmer Fredette to appease the Mormons…..but yet, there he is sitting in the D-league.  Danny Ainge hasn’t drafted one Mormon. The last Mormon the Jazz drafted was in the late 80’s.   Think before you speak.

I’m a die hard BYU fan and love Kyle, have talked with him several times, but IMO he is a second round talent at best !!! He has great size to play the point but that is about it , he’s not quick enough or athletic enough to play D against NBA talent and the biggest problem for Kyle is he is a poor shooter. I wish that wasn’t the case but it’s true. He is big enough and tough enough to score around the basket in college and against lower level competition but I don’t see it translating to the NBA.  I hope I’m wrong but I dought it.

Unless it’s as a role player in a certain kind of system I don’t see much of an NBA player.

On the other hand his style of game will get him paid in Europe if he chooses that route.
