Is Milwaukee a playoff team

The Bucks took a nosedive after trading Brandon Knight. With Knight on this team, I would say they’re in the playoffs and a dangerous team. MCW is just bad, I mean horrible.

The team got worse when Knight was traded. Didnt think badly of the trade at the time but its not working out. MCW’s play style is more tailored to the personnel than Knight’s and hes having the opportunity to be mentored by one of the great pointguards of the last 15 years with a play style very similar to Kidd’s. 

I dont know what is wrong with this team but its pretty frustrating rooting for this team especially with the stretch of blowouts theyve had over the last week. They were one of the best defensive teams last year (top 5), but now theyre like the second worst defensive team in the league. 

The team got worse when Knight was traded. Didnt think badly of the trade at the time but its not working out. MCW’s play style is more tailored to the personnel than Knight’s and hes having the opportunity to be mentored by one of the great pointguards of the last 15 years with a play style very similar to Kidd’s.

There are still a lot of games to be played, but I don’t think the Bucks are a lock to make the playoffs. I know it’s only one game, but they have a HUGE spacing problem. MCW doesn’t even glance… No… Actually… He doesn’t even PEAK at the rim to shoot. I mean, they have too man non shooters. I haven’t looked at the stats, but they have to be one of the worst defensive rebounding teams in the league. They’re also weak defensively. I just don’t like the way this team fits. 

Switching to the Pacers… It’s early, but I really think they can finish as a top five seed. PG is BETTER than he was before the injury. Monta’s legs are finally looking strong after off-season knee surgery. Jordan Hill, Chase Budinger and GR3 (he’s impressed me)… All great off-season pickups. Defensively, the Pacers haven’t dropped off. Offensively, they can play spread or big.

I think the Bucks need to either move on from MCW and find a PG who can create their own offense (someone like Brandon Knight). They have fantastic athletes, and they are not utalyzing their stregths in this regards. 

I think it would be a good move to trade for Ty Lawson at this point. He’s relegated to the bench in Houston, and is just a terrible fit there. The Rockets could use some defensive help or at least another 3 and D type of player. A trade of:

OJ Mayo, Chris Copeland, and a 1st for Ty Lawson and Jason Terry would help both sides I would think. 

Either way, unless Jabari can get right and prove to be a fantastic half court iso player, this team probably isn’t making the playoffs this year. They were 7th last year, and Miami, DET, Indy, and CHA have all over taken them so far this year. Right now I think these are the best in the East.

I just don’t see the Bucks ability to pull away from these teams with that offense, and teams like the Celtics, Pacers, Toronto, DET, and Knicks are all top 10 defenses, so they are going to be able to maintain at least a sense of competativeness. I’d be surprised if the Bucks beat these teams out unless they start playing like the defensive unit they had last year.

Bucks issues are floor spacing, but it’s not just MCW…  It’s Giannis and Greg Monroe too…

In fact, Greg Monroe just isn’t that good.  They wasted money on getting him because that dude miss so many easy shots.   OMG…

Knight and would rather see what MCW could do for cheaper.   Now they can try him out and look through the draft or FA for his replacement.   PG’s nowadays aren’t hard to get..

 The team has actually been fairly solid on offense.  Somewhat due to an easy schedule, but it is a promising offensive team that shoud be nice once Kidd, MCW and Monroe are gone after next season.  Team’s offensive system is terrible and consists of bad elbow facilitation sets and a lot of isos.  Team plays with less pace than any other team in the league depsite having great transition scorers in Giannis and Jabari.

Defensive system is totally messed up.  Even last year, they relied on forcing opponents to play Moreyball and gave up tons of threes.  This season, teams have adjusted and it is just open three after open three.  Team isn’t going to do much until it totally scraps its defensive system.

I think the there still adjustment because of Monroe, he’s new, I’m hoping that in midseason they gonna figure this out and be good, Giannis should benefit from a little bit of pace, he’s a one man fastbreak. the issue is the spacing, they are all rim attackers, look at Giannis and MCW, Monroe doesn’t have a consistent jumper, Parker coming back from injury has not yet 100 percent, and his outside shooting was still not that consistent when he’s still in college. I think if MCW and Greek Freak can hit their 3pt shots the defense would respect them and cover them out to 3pt line, that would mean more space for monroe and parker to operate, or for Giannis to drive and dish or MCW to drive and dish. But as of the moment the defenders are sagging of them. I know I would get a lot of negatives here, But I think Kidd should look at his bench and think about Vasquez starting, He’s the only PG right now in his bench whose outside shooting is dependable. He’s a veteran. I know there’s bayless and ennis, But ennis isn’t ready yet, Bayless is way too selfish and be looking for his shots instead of feeding his team mates, Vasquez is a pass first point guard. I think MCW and Bayless can co exist in the 2nd unit. They should unload Mayo for a good PG with shooting.

That’s my only opinion.

The offense has been average or slightly above average this year.  Despite MCW and Jabari being non-shooters, they’ve hit enough 3’s to be an effective offensive team and they’re 4th in the league in 3PT% (but they simply don’t shoot enough of them).
