Is KG the best teammate ever?

In all seriousness, I would say Garnett is definitely a guy you would rather play with than against. He has grown into more of a leadership and mentorship role as his career has progressed but it would be a stretch to say he is the best teammate ever. I would say magic johnson as far as a guy that really knew how to motivate and bring out the best from his teammates.

According to multiple witnesses and confirmed by both rick rickerts agent and mother, rick was scoring on kg during a scrimmage and some guys were teasing kg about it. After one final score KG sucker punched rickert causing a cut that required multiple stitches and chipping his tooth. Everyone in attendance said it was completely unprovoked. Yup best teammate eva

 I would count KG as one of the few guys opponents hated playing against and probably wanted to punch because in all reality, KG was a dickhead to you if you were on the other team.  As far as playig with, he obviously got into it with teammates because of his intensity and ultr-competitve nature, but he always had your back and you would want to go to battle with KG anyday.

Right now at this stage of his career and for where the T-Wolves are at there is no one better to be mentoring these kids on how to become a team of tough winners. I hope he continues mentoring this squad as an assistant coach once his playing career is done. I think having KG back in Minnesota is a path changing masterstroke for this organisation.

 The Timberwolves were very wise to bring back KG. Dude is a warrior and winner and I pretty much agree with the majority that there isn’t a single veteran player in the NBA that I would want helping teach the kids how to become true pros and become good or great. KG is the man! Best teammate for sure!

My take on KG was always that he is/was an elite player, but not liked by other players.  You might that players respect him as a player, but it is pretty well-known that other players really don’t like KG.  He is known as a trash talker, and some of the hazing stories make him sound like a bully.  I wouldn’t put him in the class of Magic Johnson type leaders.  I see him more of in the mold of Michael Jordan type of leader.  A leader who players fear/respect, but defintiely do not love.  And, imho, only leaders that are respected and loved by other players can get the most out of their teammates over the long-term.  Magic is the perfect example of the respected/loved type of leader.  KG is a fear/respect kind of guy, and players will develop resentment of those guys over the long-term.
