OJ Mayo has a skillset alot similar to Kobe Bryant. Alot of people have compared him to Ben Gordon due to the combo label he has as an undersized shooting guard. He reminds me of KOBE still. That same mentality to dominate a game from all facets, both defensively and especially offensively. He can pass it well, shoot, and lock in on the opposition. He also faces the same scrutiny that KOBE is labeled with. In time, MAYO will be the next great thing in the NBA. Anyone agrees?!?!?

Seriously, you kidding me,the difference is that Kobe at 31 has more athleticism than Mayo, O.J can’t get separtion,Mayo has big time trouble getting pass defender, first step is average, no way

But I would’nt compare him to Kobe. Mayo does have a well rounded game and is unselfish. But Kobe has a height and athleticism advantage. Kobe makes tough shots as well as anyone who has ever played the game. Mayo is probably never gonna be able to get the seperation needed to make some of the plays that Kobe makes. I think Mayo could become an all-star, but I don’t know if he will be an MVP candidate year in and out like Kobe has been.

about the comparison. I mean i see where he could think the skill set is similar but kobe as yall have said has a height advantage and elite athleticism. But when u hear mayo talk u get a sense of the dtermination in his voice to prove doubters wrong much like kobe had early in his career. and i have a feeling that he will try 2 model himself after kobe. he may never get to that level. but in 3 yrs OJ will be an all star

Im not callin them the same player, OBVIOUSLY KOBE is taller and more athletic. Its just I notice the same skillset and mentality they both share. I wasnt saying they were on the same level. If Mayo was the same height as KOBE than you would probably see it the same way.

They both like breaking the rules and are cocky so i see some similarities. Except Mayo got locked down by Westbrook and Kobe doesn’t get locked down too often.

Agree with me or not,but if Mayo can’t improve on his explosiveness,he will be a less athletic Ben Gordon

He is going to be better than Ben Gordon because he can play point guard and plays good defense. He is just as good an athlete as Ben Gordon too. OJ Mayo doesnt have any weaknesses as a player, he will be better than Gordon. He may not be as good as Kobe is right now, more than likely not, but he will be a great player in this league

Ben Gordon is alot better of a athlete than Mayo, you’re thinking of all the hype he had coming from high school so you assume he going to be a great pro,Ben Gordon has the explosiveness, but doesn’t use it the right way,Mayo has major problem getting by defenders, his first step is average at best
