Okafor seemed way more mature & sick of all the attention by the time the draft rolled around… According to reports, he’s a work-aholic & moved his older sister, her kid & her dogs into his place in Phila so "it would be a family atmosphere…" He doesn’t sound like a partier at all….
And I’m not saying Russell is – but he seems to crave attention & that could go either way…

I have been sticking up for Russell on most of these threads but w/ this, I would def question his thinking & decision making – why seek out more attention??? I don’t want to be too hard on the kid, he’s just 19, but why give his critics ammunition…

  I question the Lakers top brass
  Their leadership group needs attention.
  They picked him. I was Hoping they would select Okafor. I still have a bit of a soft spot for the Lakers, They were my favourite team growing up in New Zealand.

      NZ doesn’t have much talent outside of the Rugby field. Just big bodies that are willing to work hard. e.g Adams and Wynyard. I knew Webster was going to get cut from the beginning. Unlike you Aussies, we don’t have the talent or systems to grow talent like the AIS. Most of your good players fathers played in the ANBL so they have good athletic genetics. Remember when NBA teams waited til PGs were ~22 because they had so much to learn? Then Rose/Westbrook/Wall came in, not knowing the nuances of running an NBA offense, but physically imposing their will on the game and eventually picking up some knowledge.
Russell is not cut from that mold, and he’s 19 ****ing years old. He’s going to take some time.
As for the thread, the OP did get a laugh out of me.

To be honest, thats what really pissed me off at the start of this day. How are you going to criticise Mudiay, like your pick has helped you win a game, Mudiay and Denver won 2 games already.

      okay i’ll try again, in plain english……..wtf is a guy that has posted 1000+ times on an NBA forum doing questioning someone else’s sexual prowess on this site. i’m honestly probably more educated than a lot of people on here keeping it honest, and I don’t stand for people taking personal jabs and writing mom jokes in some pissy tirade because someone hates on his team or a player on his team.
      Show a little more class. I don’t care how annoying or ridiculous the poster is, nobody deserves to hear a mom-joke or get called a virgin, that personal, nonsensical shit was for the kids in high school, hopefully most of us are beyond that.

        TRex is a crazed Celtics fan sometimes irrational, so what, he’s a part of the culture on here.
        I am an unabashed Sixers fan, but I like to think I keep it real.
        The Lakers organization pissed me off when Byron Scott criticized the #7 pick before Mudiay before their first game, and then his team got their ass beat by that same player’s squad.
        They also criticized the Sixers for tanking, and yet will soon find themselves in the same position. Trust me, no one is rooting more for the Lakers to win than me. Worry about their own squad, quit making poster-boys out of your rookies and then disrespecting other rookies before you play against them, while not even playing yours in the 4th quarter. In short, respect everyone.
