John Calipari recently said he would like to see 12 former players in the all star game. He already has 3 with Wall, Cousins, and Davis, 4 if you include Rose. I can see Randle, Noel and Towns to join them in the future as definites.

Players like Cauley Stine, Lyles, Booker and other cats, and even players like Bledsoe and Knight can surprise people and make a selection.

An then with all the recruits will get in the future, will calipari reach his goal. I personally think it’s achievable.

Yes, I could see 12 ex- Calipari players making the ASG. He continues to get high level one and dones, which statistically are more likely to make ASG since the 1-and-done trend started.

I DO NOT see there being 12 UK players in an ASG in a single year. We all know any school that has Calipari is feeling great… right up until Cal gets caught with something and bolts for a new school. So IDK if Cal stays at UK long enough to get players around the same age. I could easily see him get caught again, go to NBA for a few years, then come back to college in a Larry Brown/ Pitino type return.

Sorry to be a downer, but no.

    A) If we’re being honest with ourselves half of the players won’t become All-Stars.
    B) Even if they all become All-Stars, they won’t in the same year.

I think the more interesting question is, of the 8 players you mentioned (not including Cousins, Wall, Davis & Rose), who will be the next All-Star?

Julius Randle in a year or two will be an all star.

Dark horse pick, Nerlens Noel. He was a #1 recruit but he is known for his defense but if he can have a season where he averages 12ppg-12rbp-3.5bpg he could slide in as a reserve.

Says the guy with Nerlens Noel as his Avatar ha! I think he could make his way in as an All Star as well, just not before Randle, Im willing to put money on it.. Randle playing in the LA market with that huge fan base.. He most certainly will see the all star game soon..  I just see Okafor stealing Noels votes because he has the better offensive game..

Haha I realized that right after I pressed the button to post it. I totally agree that Julius will before Noel AND that Okafor will steal votes.

I agree with Julius Randle being a fuutre all star. You don’t see Karl Towns being an all star in 3 years, and Nerlens can make a few if hes a stat sheet stuffer. An not mention all will be under 28 years old and in the prime of their careers.

I don’t see happening. Guys that are close to locks for the all star that are not form Kentucky. Harden, Lebron, curry, Westbrook, Durant,  M gasol, Irving, Klay, Melo,  Chris Paul,  Alridge, Lillard, George, Bosh, Wade, Then you have guys like Butler, Lowry, Derozan, Beal, Horford, Vueucic, that will vie for all star berth and none are from Kentucky.

Harden, Curry, Lebron, Westbrook, Griffin, Durant, Irving, Klay, Marc Gasol, Chris Paul, Melo, Aldrige, Lillard, PG-13, and Bosh are locks.

But you have players like Wade (34), Pau Gasol (35), Kobe Byrant (37), Tim Duncan (39), Dirk Nowitzki (37) who are at the end of their careers.

The rest of the players you mentioned are good players and will make some selections but with free agency, trades, and just the future in general things can change. Now their not getting 12 players in all star game this year obviously. But in 5, 6  years time there’s a chance it could happen not saying it’s set in stone. Everything right and then some would have to happen to see that but it’s good to see coach calipari having a goal trying to build a great legacy at kentucky.
