high floorParticipantI remember when Dwight first signed with Houston 2 years ago & pundits were clamoring for Houston to sign a complimentary PF. I was like wth?? You already have your long-term solution!
As Rudeboy mentioned Terrence Jones has a lot versatility. He can block shots from the weak-side, step out and hit the 3 pointer, and plus he’s quite a bit bigger than people realize. Dude’s a solid 250+ pounds and is athletic.
All that matters for him now is health since he’s dealt with some pretty weird injuries of late. He’s still developing. But I think he busts out pretty big this season, especially since he’s in a contract year.

PulseGlazerParticipantHe was always extremely talented and always seemed to flourish more as a complementary piece. Good for him that he found a team that lets him do that and do it well.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI think an interesting question will be who will emerge as Houston’s pf of the future Jones or montajunias. Sooner or later on of these guys will want to probably start and play a bigger role. I like what Jones brings defensively more but d- mo works a little better as a floor spacer next to Howard. Not sure if they will be able to keep both long-term.

whiteflashParticipantHad floor seats to a Rockets/Nets game last year, and Jones’ length really stood out. He had probably 3-4 closeout blocks just by chasing after the shooter with his hands up. I like him, but he’s definitely not a top 10 pf. I’m honestly not sure he’s a full time starter. He’s a jack of all trades, master of none guy. Decent shooter but has a slow release, decent ballhandler but gets himself into trouble, decent athlete but not real quick or explosive and has trouble finishing in traffic…. Think he’s best served as your 6th-8th guy off the bench on a contender. Unfortunately, I don’t think The Rockets are contenders. How Harden meshes with Lawson being the primary ballhandler will give insight into that pretty early on.

kobyzParticipantI don’t quite agree, what you describe can be good more to a player like Bobby Portis, Terrance is better than that and much more skilled i feel, as a pf he’s a miss match waiting to happened…
