ChicagoCaseyParticipantI know it’s just preseason and it against the Philadelphia 76ers, but the Wizards pace and space high tempo offense looked spectacular last night. This is why I believe they will be better this upcoming season, even without “Paul Pierce”. I really can’t believe Randy Wittman came to the light and play to his best player strength.
Kelly Oubre also appears to be way ahead of schedule in terms of his development and challenge for playing time this season ( he missed the preseason game due to spraining his ankle the day before the game ).

I May Be WrongParticipantWizards, man. Boy are the fun to watch! (coming from a Sixers fan) Got a chance to catch about 75% of the game last night.
I was surprised by the 3’s but you nailed it. Pace and Space. They had some great looks for wide open three pointers. And it just wasn’t the guards shooting them. Gooden hit a couple I believe. And Otto Porter was fantastic offensively. If his shot is this consisent throughout, I will see the Wizards as a possible 2 seed to be honest. Bradley Beal looked very good too. He’s up for a contract (and low key, I hope the Sixers make an offer that the Wizards cannot match lol) but he was playing well and being aggressive. Looks like his playoff performance will carryover to this season.

ChicagoCaseyParticipantThe Wizards aren’t going to let Bradley Beal walk. The Wizards not going to give him a extension because if they wait to the offseason they will have about $20 million more oppose if they sign him now. The Wizards want to be a big player in free agency next summer.

I May Be WrongParticipantOh yeah, definitely. I understand that. They’re gonna make that push for KD and want to make sure they can. I’m just selfishly hoping for my team to make a big time move next year too lol. Essentially, I hoping we can find our "James Harden" so to speak where we get a guy who just steps it up to the next level when we make him the face of the franchise.

TarHeelRavenParticipantHuge Wizards fan here. The big question is can the Wiz take the next step this year instead of being a playoff tease again. I think the Wiz have the talent to compete in the East but Wall and Beal have to be healthy all year. Nene has to be above average this year. He was horrific in the playoffs. Wall improves every year and always comes back better. He has the hunger and drive to be great. A great competitor and I’m looking for him to have an MVP caliber year this year.

OaktownWarriorsParticipantCome on it’s the Sixers, I watched the game and I dig on the Wiz roster. However, I can grab four of my buddies and score vs. the Sixers. Will they be better, no sure? They didn’t get worse and I know they will make the playoffs in the weak East. Do they have enough to beat the Bulls, Bucks, Hawks, or Cavs in a series? Really, I’m not really sold on their coach.

ChicagoCaseyParticipantDid you not read my first sentence? This is so freaking annoying that someone make this comment when I directly said in my first sentence that they played against the 76ers. I’m just saying they new type of offense looks great.
So, you are not sold on Wizards because of Wittman. But, the Bulls and Bucks coaches never made it out the first round, and Wittman did it twice.

sitlbitoParticipant"the bulls and bucks coaches never made it out the first round, wittman did it twice". Am I completely missing something here? Is that sarcasm? Jason Kidd led the Nets to an eastern conference semi final, and Hoiberg never coached in the NBA….I don’t get it.

NBAjunkie81ParticipantThey are being largely ignored & I think they have a nice team. As for the Sixers fans, I realize that you were missing your new backcourt of Marshall & Stauskus & what you had last night was just terrible but I would be Very excited if I was a Sixers fan – Nerlens Noel looks poised to have a Monster year, he looked so comfortable, he really looked smooth & at 7 foot he was the quickest player on the court (along w/ J. Wall) & Okafor is an absolute stud, you can see what he is going to become & he’s going to be a Beast in a few years… So I would be Very excited to be a fan of Either teams… I love Wall & he is such a great PG & is growing into a real Leader….

JordoParticipantThat’s what has been holding them back. Wizards offense has been slow, predictable, and boring to watch for a while. They’ve really been able to turn things around by becoming a scrappy defensive team these last few years. But i felt their offense should have been better. It’s like everybody had the green light to shoot mid range jumpers. Freaking Nene and Kris Humpries were taking mid range jumpers consistently. Not sure why they had Beal taking a bunch of long 2’s as well when he’s around 39-40% from 3.

PulseGlazerParticipantWittman was a below average coach for awhile. I hope he’s figured things out for the sake of Wall’s career and their hopes of getting Durant.

kobyzParticipantOnly if they could find a twinner forward to play the up tempo 4 as upgrade over Kris, that could do magic for them with the new system…
